I felt this one.

Sitting in my command chair in front of TV and computer, I thought a cat was jumping on the chair. After realizing my bouncing chair was not cat involved I thought, oh well an earthquake.

It did not feel so intense so I did not exit the house as I normally do.

No floods. No hurricanes. Oil contained since the blow out in Santa Barbara.

What's a little "shaking" now and then?

Moi

Shook up, not stirred

"The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered five miles southeast of Ocotillo in Imperial County Β— about 85 miles east of San Diego. It struck Monday at 9:26 p.m. PDT."

I felt it too but Google, which is all-knowing, said it was a 5.9 tremor.

All you guys ever get is a once in a while little earthquake or a mud slide and its big news, when we get twisters, lightning storms, floods, and did you know that several millions of years ago Japan was on the west coast?

Glad it was not the big one.

really, 5.7 or 5.9 does not even break a window or knock a glass on the floor.

When it moves your house off the foundation then report it.

It has been described as a swarm,

which is how it felt.

When it was over, my chair shook again.

Family up north tell me, unlike the shaking / tremor effect of Southern California

They feel more of a, up and down effect -

for the same measurement!

It is not all in the, "numbers".

Consider the nature of the motion, tremor or bouncing.

I am from California, I have been in earthquakes, last one was in 89, I was in Livermoore when it happened, building shook like hell. Give me a break, I get shook up more when my cat jumps on me.

Some place around Toronto πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ "eh"

they had some 5.0 E'quake and it traveled.

Okay, maybe it was a 5.5.

Why should these πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ quakes

be allowed to affect Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Columbus, Ohio,

and a few of those small Yankee states?

First it is those πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ taking good high paying American jobs, like news casting -

Now they E'quake us too.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ needs a 51st State, anyway.

Hey this is the Eunuch Archive. We don't have to be crazy to hang out here, but it sure makes it more fun. (Though on the political board it is almost a prerequisite.)
