I was just informed that Flo has suffered a computer failure of some kind. He may be offline for quite some time, and asked to let you all know.

My sympathy to Uncle Flo and I wish his computer a speedy recovery.
This sort of thing can happen to any computer at any time - and it often does to mine.

I lost 2 days this week at work when my main computer failed to start on Tuesday morning. Then again, it's run flawlessly for 4 years, too. It was an older machine, running Win 2K, and it absolutely refused to reinstall or repair. I wound up putting XP Pro on it, and I hate it.

I am back on line (sort of). I am now using a bit of equipment that is known to be unreliable so all could go dark again at any moment. Perhaps i should not complain - the tower I am using has well over ten thousand hours of use. At least this time it did not burst into flame! --FLO--

If your tower tends to burst into flame I would look towards TheOtherSide as the cause.
He once told me that he refuses to enter a church but that it had nothing to do with the fact that his body bursts into flames when he tries to enter.

Wdell, the original failure is back this time with additional problems. Now I can only get online using an old, slow, unreliable laptop that I am not fond of. The difficulty seems to be both in hardware and in a faulty download. I am still working it out. Re-calculating the hours of use on my principal computer shows, conservatively, not 10000 hours but 39000 hours so it could just be worn out. --FLO--
