Does anyone know?

What happens to a fart if you don't let it go?

As the man at the urinal stall told me: "if you're over fifty you can't trust a fart." Wise words indeed.

Well as I was taught,

There are 5 kinds of farts,

The Fizz

The Fuzz

The Fizzy Fuzz

The Ass Ripper

and

The one that goes Poo.

I am sure it will fall into one of those groups.

I suggest that you all consult Joel's Journal and Fact Filled Fart Book, Available at Spencer's Gifts. Also, Who Cut the Cheese? and Blame it on the Dog both by Jim Dawson. Skip Fart Proudly unless you are into the founding fathers.

now I feel embarrassed for knowing so much about this subject....

Hey! I have a SERIOUS QUESTION HERE, and I would actually appreciate a serious answer.

WHY ARE FARTS SO FUNNY? Why is it that almost everyone is compelled to laugh when we hear a joke or story about an embarrassing moment involving a fart?

Seriously, it is just a natural body function, we ALL of us do it. So it should be no big deal really. But yet, look at the funniest scenes from any comedy movies.... "Blazing Saddles" when Slim Pickens comes to the campfire and is hit by the smell of it "Whew!! What DIED!" Or the Austin Powers characther "Fat Bastard"..."it did sound a bit wet, especially at the end there didn't it?"

People almost universally laugh when they hear a fart joke. So why?

And don't forget the Pink Panther when Peter Sellers lets one rip in an elevator then looks at this guy in an accusing way, it was not in the script but it was in the movie.

My step-father always blamed the dog and my mother believed him.

Ahh yes, and you know, in the more recent Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin, where he steps into the "soundproof" room of a recording studio while not knowing that the microphone in the room was on and active, Inspector Clusseau rips off a few. Everyone outside hears it, and stares in nervous silence.

Also, in the movie "Spies Like Us" there is the fart being blamed on someone else gag.

Farts are just funny... unless I am stuck in the same car with some fart-sack, then it is not funny. But it IS funny when I am the one who is farting.... like Fat Bastard says: "Everyone like the smell of his own brand."

How true, your own don't smell quite as bad as the dog. 😄
