I did a search on hair reduction posts here, but most of what I found revolved around antiandrogens and HRT in general. And even the ones that did not mention HRT were not explicitly NOT on HRT either. I have no desire to be on HRT of any type, but I would also like very much to have my body hair reduced as much as possible.
So I have a very specific question: for those of you who have been castrated but are not on HRT, how much did you find it reduced your body hair? I realize this will be different for everyone, but I'd like a good baseline of expectation so I can figure if and how seriously I should be thinking about HRT for the purposes of hair reduction. I'd prefer answers from people who have been physically castrated, because I'm not sure if and to what extent the effects of that differ from chemical castration.
I am not particularly hairy overall, but I am rather hairy in places that are, shall we say, difficult to shave (so if you're comfortable, please share about ass hair and hair between the legs).

Re: Hair reduction without hormones
If you have hair growing (Pubes, beard etc) castration is not going to change that. Our TS friends spend a great deal of time, money and pain on doing hair removal.
Head hair? I've "Heard" it can stop balding but... Having an Orchiectomy to counter baldness seems like a pretty drastic way!

It is fairly common reported experience of non-HRT eunuchs that a great deal of secondary hair (chest, legs, arms) goes away. Beard and pubic hair remain, but tend to grow slower, as does the secondary hair that remains. However, a non-HRT eunuch must also deal with all of the side effects of loss of testosterone - and they can be many, and sometimes severe.
As a eunuch who uses HRT, I can assure you that one of the very prominent side effects is secondary hair growth. Hardly had a hair on my chest at first, now I am very hairy. Arm and leg hair is thicker and darker.
As a control for secondary hair, castration is a rather poor option, in my opinion. Laser removal or electrolysis are your best options.

Agree, I have almost no body hair at all but and my head is still bald but where I had 7 hairs on top I now have hundreds, a nice little patch of fur growing, I still have no need to comb or brush it and I still appear bald but I do have new growth, I really wish it would grow somewhere else.

Re: Hair reduction without hormones
For a variety of reasons, I went off Testosterone for a year or so once.
What I found was that the growth of my body hair slowed almost completely to a stop. Hair that was sloughed off in the normal course of events by clothing, washing, whatever, was not replaced. I think there was still a little growth and if I were trying to be "hairless," I probably would have had to shave it off, but the vast majority stopped. I usually have to shave everyday or one would notice that I had missed a day; when I was off the Testosterone, I shaved maybe twice a week and even then had only a very little to remove.
Interestingly enough, my male pattern baldness reversed itself and I grew some hair back on my head; someone actually asked me if I had had hair treatment.
Hope that helps.

Regular waxing/sugaring/epilator-usage can cause body hair to slow and, for some people, even stop growing back. It can cause your body hair to grow back thinner and weaker also.
