This was a good story for the topic. Blader is a good author.
Not everyone appreciates a story like this but it is a great change of pace from time to time to have a "female castration" story to break the monotony of reading about so many males being cut.
The trouble is, however, that this story could be much closer to the truth than ANY of the male stores. FGM is still practiced in the world in some places as a "normal" thing to do to women. This is the tragedy of the situation. 1930 was a little over 70 years ago. Much closer historically speaking.
Although Blader and I both know that this is a fiction story we also know that there are so many stories of this nature that are never told because they actually happened. Relating the story is just too painful. Afew, however, have made it into literature. I can research this and give actual books and articles if there is an interest. Let me know.
For the most part sexual mutilation of men is on the decline. Circumcision, a minor mutilation when compared to what women must endure as little girls in some countries, is on the decline also. Female Genital Mutilation is still widely practiced and if anything it is holding steady or increasing according to the author of the statistics that one quotes.
Not to mention the rare few females who would seek this out because of they have a type of Munchausen's Syndrome too new to be described except in vague medical journals.
In this particular situation the woman finds attention of a sexual nature because of her mutilation desirable. Because of the mutilation she no longer experiences guilt feelings about such attention.
Sorry I cannot give references but I only read about it once several years ago and I forgot the source of the article...
