I got a call yesterday that my favorite uncle had died.

Later when on the phone there was a clatter like a dish drying in the dish tray had fallen. I looked and everything looked normal. I did not pay much attention, but latter I mentioned it and wife and a house guest had the same thing happen earlier.

That evening when I was flirting with wife in the kitchen, the oddest thing happened. To me, it was like sheet lighting right above our head, but under the ceiling. I felt stunned like once when lighting hit a pine tree about 50 feet from me. Wife said it was like energy zigging around the air. A plant hanging down from the kitchen cabinets was waving like somebody or a blast of air shook it.

Anybody ever have anything like this happen?

Yes I have, it was several months after my mother died, but yes.

Happens much more often than most people realize.

It was just your uncle letting you know that he is alright, that his energy ("soul" or "spirit") continues to exist even though his body is gone.

Sounds like you were his favorite nephew to pay you a visit.

I really liked him. Visiting him was like putting on your favorite pair of old shoes. Just so comfortable being around him.

What really hurts besides the loss is the kids are old enough now to begin to know their roots. We had already started planning with him meeting at a family reunion this summer.

I have never ever observed any visible, audible or in any other way perceptable thing when someone close to me passed on... I for one, do not believe in mumbo jumbo, I am a dedicated scientist in my thinking, "if it cannot be counted, weighed or measured, it does not exist!" Now, I will tell you in this post some of the experiences I have had, that make me feel quite certain that there are many things that do in fact exist, but have yet to be discovered or understood by our science.

Even though I would like to deny the existance of "mumbo jumbo" stuff that I do not completely understand, I cannot deny that these things did in fact happen.... On three separate occaissions when someone far away died, I have had a "feeling," it is a very unususal feeling, clearly unique enough that I myself think of it as a "death signature." It has to have been just coincidence, everything logical and sensible tells me that it was only coincidence. The people who had just died, all three of them were people I have never met, I did not know them, I only knew of them.

The first time, was when I was fast asleep very early in the morning on 6 January, 1995. A 25 year old woman, who I did not personally know but only had read about, was murdered ("executed") by the sick and perverted government of Singapore. At the moment of her death, I was sound asleep, yet I very suddenly was wide awake, I FELT a snap, like a static electricity shock, and I was very depressed. I think that I will forever hate everything about Singapore.

The second time was when my wife's father, who I had never met, died. At the time he passed on, I was working in a hellish place, for some very sick-minded people, work for me at that time was truly hellish, but then, at that moment, I got this strange euphoric feeling. It was like for a moment, and only a moment, I could look at my life and all my troubles, and yet still feel that everything was going to be alright.

The third time, was when my wife's brother died. I am actually pretty sure he was poisoned by his wife. Again, he was a person I had never met, did not really know him, only knew of him. Yet at the time he died, without any possible way for me to have known of his passing, I got that very same euphoric feeling I had when my father-in-law passed.
