What bad timing for Chile,

Their disaster was badly timed. I guess they will suffer the more, for it.

I did notice one thing, the earthquake in Haiti was 7.0 and leveled the place, killed over a hundred thousand, the quake in Chili was 8.8 and the death toll is up to 700, this is the difference between a county that has some money and builds for earthquakes and one that is very poor and does not. The earthquake destroyed the city and they will need to rebuild it but the people lived through the worst earthquake in recorded history.

Wed is payday so I guess I will give some money to Chili, I may need to send some to Haiti too.

Chile's big export is farmed Salmon.

Haiti has Barbancort Rum, nothing less the 5 star of course.

River, treat yourself to a healthy Salmon dinner and Rum, although you do not like Rum do it for Haiti. Support their economies.

Worst is a subjective term, but the most intense earthquake in recorded history was the earthquake in Valdivia, Chile in 1960 which seismographs measured at 9.5. The Lisbon earthquake was probably the largest loss of life, reckoned by some as as many as 500,000 dead.

Let's be thankful that like the New Madrid quakes of 1811-1812, a series each around magnitude 8.1, that struck Missouri and affected a region of about 50,000 square miles, the epicenter of the Concepion earthquake was sparsely inhabited.

Odd. Pat Robertson hasn't accused the nation of Chile of having a long standing pact with Satan. I thought that was a prerequisite for a Great Earthquake. I guess I just don't understand God.

I stand corrected, as I was watching TV they said it was the most powerful in history but today I herd it was like the 7th or 8th. Thanks

If you want to worship God help your fellow humans instead of going to church. Donate your tithing to your favorite charity and not the church's pocket. Helping Chili is a good thing, but we must get our own house (America) in order first!

I would agree with that except we don't want to get our house clean but we love giving money to a good charity.
