I received the following informative e-mail from "Gelding" and asked his permission to re-print here on the Eunuch Archive's Message Board. He has given me that permission

If you want to combat osteoporosis risk, then Androgel in low levels is
fine.
There are 5% and 1% gel packs. One every third day of the 1% will provide a
low level of testosterone to postpone loss of bone density. I know several
eunuchs who take that level and lower to keep a certain level of energy.
Bone density is affected by several factors, only one of which is hormone
level, whether male or female. A great deal has to do with mild stress
placed on the bones by regular exercise, and this stress stimulates bone
growth with proper nutrition. Diet with sufficient calcium in usable form
is important. I've always enjoyed milk and cheese. Lack of exercise
contributes to the onset of osteoporosis. Lack of exercise stems from loss
of energy caused by loss of testosterone (or estrogen for women).
