Authors here create their own "universes" sometimes, as in the world of Simon Scott, or the world of XY-N, Thecia, or Azyntion City. (These readily come to mind.)

If you have an idea for a story using the universe or characters from an existing series or universe, you must contact the author to get permission. I have had 2 inquiries on this, this week.

Please give the author at least 7-10 days to reply to you. Fourteen (14) is better. If he says no, that is that. The story will not be accepted. Authors should let me know if they have been asked and said no.

If the creator of the series says yes, then you AND he must email or PM me to let me know you have agreed to this. Stories in other universes, other than the authors that I KNOW will say no, will be held. It's best not to write it out, other than a personal outline, until we have confirmation.

So far, I want it known that Azyntion City by Nathan is off limits to other authors. Set it somewhere else, please.

It's a good idea to show respect for the IP (intellectual property) of another author. I've created a lot of "universes" and admit to having mixed feelings about another author taking off with a story and making new versions of it without my permission. Especially if they do it badly. My own standards are pretty high for quality of content, realism in character depiction, and so on.

On the other hand, a degree of plagiarism is sort of a compliment. But would-be authors should ask, out of respect and as a reasonable basic rule for participating in the story-telling circle.

The series "Cock Gambling in Vegas" went through 3 authors. The original was by Coinflipper. I think it disappeared off EA but I liked the plot and story so much I re-wrote it, giving full credit to Coinflipper for the original. Then another guy contacted me asking for my OK to do more chapters. I said OK and he wrote 2 or 3 more chapters before disappearing completely. I did some heavy editing to improve the new chapters - about as much work as writing from scratch, if you ask me - and we have a readable and erotic multi-chapter story as a result. All 3 authors got the credit.
