getting what you wish for

If you read some of my post before you know that I have been on siterone for just over 2 years now and happy with the results, I took a few months break to see what would happen and my T levels went back to 100, and stayed there.

I went back to 25mg and brought my level back down to the 50s where I have been very happy.

I have been working with a phsyc who supports my desire for castration and was working with a doc to hopefully get me cut soon.

Now that’s not needed. About 6-8 weeks ago I started getting pain in my testicals, it was slowly growing in intensity, but I had pain there before, so no big deal.

I went and saw my endocrinologist, who knows that I take the drugs and has been following me for the 2 years, for a regular office visit. I told him about the pain and he had me go see my urologist, who also knows. He said the damage done to my testicals from the drugs from such a prolonged used has caused them to atrophy to such a point that they need to be removed to prevent any further pain or future possible dangerous side effects (which he is not worried about in the immediate future).

Thus they have scheduled surgery for 2.5 months from now. They are waiting that long to let the rest of the cancer meds, from my kidney cancer to finish flushing out of the system. Thank God that all worked out, I am 100% clean.

So I am lucky that its now covered by insurance, (my docs have been great about not putting too much info on my insurance claim forms), but I do warn others that long term use of this drug does cause irreversible effects in some people. So as I am known to say, watch out for you might just get what you wish for.

If it was possible to get what you want by simply wishing for it I would have had different equipment several years ago.

Hi David,

Wish you the best in a smooth surgery and quick recovery.

I had always followed with much interest your prior posts as your journey on siterone is very similar to my own.

I too had been on Androcur for several years, but had been off all hormones for the past 8 months or so. But I still continue to feel my breast growing with occasional swelling pains (mild) on my breast, and sometimes more acute pains on my swollen nipples. My testicles also ache from time to time. Although I did not have my T-level tested recently, all these symptoms seem to tell me that my testicles are now at least underproducing T, and my natural estrogen level is still causing these changes in my body, requiring no more help from any chemicals.

I am really curious what specific health risks your urologist mentioned about the atrophied testicles. I rather liked the atrophied testicles and quite fine in coping with the occasional aches they feel as they continue to atrophy. But I don't wish to have to deal with any life threatening risks.

because of my history of renial cancer my urologist is concerened that the atrophied testicals could become cancerous and cause future problems, as well as removing them to elivate the pain. i am not sure if i didnt have the kidney cancer issue that they would be as quick to remove the testicals.

After a several month trial of chem cast mid 09 ive found myself to be much happier with a lower T level. Now after a while with out depo provera im realizing how much of a bother my excessive sex drive really is, before the chem cast it was all I knew and had just lived with it. I feel like im ready to become a eunuch but my very supportive boyfriend wants me to try chem cast for a decently long term to be sure its right for me. We both agree that if my system dose not bounce back after this long period it would likely be a good alternative to all the effort needed to have them removed. Causing a constant pain such as yours would be a negative and worth the risk, but in your case its being fixed anyway.

I think if you did 2 years like i did, it would probably have a permanent effect as well. You might not get the pain, but you would probably not need to always take the drugs, or at least a really low dose.

I think its great that your boyfriend is supportive, i dont think it would have worked out as well for me if mine wasnt there for me.

by the way very cute pun "being fixed anway"

i think its great that you are going to continue the test period, I noticed more changes even after a year, and i recomend working out and watching your diet, i started gaining weight around a year and a half
