So I have had off and on pain in my testicles off and on for 6 years now. It started when I was about 18, I cant remember the particulars of how or why it started. I have seen many urologists with no success. I have finally really presued the pain. I tried meds of all sorts. My ultrasounds and that come back normal. I am now seeing a pain specialist at the University Of Washington. I had a prepudendal nerve injection and it did nothing not even getting numb. There going to do a Inguial (sp) nerve injection to see if that helps. I am kinda looking for some support in what to do. I don't mind losing my nuts , but I just mainly want to stop the pain.

So what change occurred in your life when you were eighteen? Did you start riding a bike long distances to work? Did you start driving a cement truck? Did you start jogging without wearing a jockstrap? Did you start masturbating five times a day? There must be an explanation if your urologists can't find the cause of the pain. Think about it...

Well As far as I can remember I had a bum wrist ( from doing hard scrubbing at my Mc Donald's job) and then started having pain and urinating blood. I think the blood was from the large amounts of Ibuprofen I was taking. The only trauma I had was when I was 16 when well I was experimenting with my bro and he decided to pull my nuts off, he gave them a really good yank. I went to the dr over it and nothing was found.

The pain seems to be getting worse and happening for longer times as I get older. It isn't any of the obvious answers. it is not an infection, tourshion, cancer. I haven't had any developmental issues. I mean I was a late bloomer, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I wounder if you have some infection. It sort of seems that way. For some reason it flairs up for some reason.

There would be swelling and burning urination but there isn't any. An infection is the first thing they rule out. I have had my urine and semen checked for infection.

Urologists have absolutlely no idea how to diagnose pains like you describe. I went thru it for years, with no success. So have other members of this site.

The best course of action is to keep a detailed record of any treatments that you try, and their effectiveness. This builds a history that can be easily shared with other doctors.

Do not accept the "learn to live with it" response that so many will try to hand you. There is no way that any man should be subjected to long term pain, especially in such an already sensitive area.

Demand success in curing the pain, or that they remove them so you can be pain free. With proper Hormone therapy, there is no reason why removal would affect anything but your ability to father children.

Almost true.

1) Whether you are gay or straight; hope to have children in the future or despise the little demons, you need to bank sperm just in case there may be a need for it later.

2) Exogenous testosterone does not replace 100% of what your testicles produce, but it comes very close. Removal of pain may make it worthwhile for you.

Raymar & MRT are two whose advice may be very helpful to you as you seek appropriate treatment.

Thanks guys, I have moved from a urologest onto a pain doctor. so hopefually they can fix it. If not I guess I am at the removal stage. It is good knowing that HRT is pretty effecient. I will bank some sperm. Any one know how much that costs, or more for the matter where they do that?

I have been trying to document all the treatments, not to the best of my knowledge but pretty accurate.

If I can remember, I have tried all sorts of antibiotics and pain killers to no effect, I have tried anti-depressants, Flowmax, nerve controllers, pain releafe patches, one temporary nerve block in the prepudendal nerves. I am not going to try nerve shock therapy. um I go back for that other shot in the ingual canal, but after that who knows what to do.

The only positive part is I get free health care from the UW. so that helps allot.

Take a step or two before having them out. Sperm banking is a choice but, depending on the woman it might require a lot of tries etc. (comes from my experience in dealing with difficult conception on the woman's side)

I would suggest trying the nerve blocks and or the micro denervation, it seems like it is the standard of care now.

BTW I had the pain start at 18, had a right orchiectomy at 28, 10 years of pain was not worth it. I never had infections etc, I was diagnosed with intermittent torsion had several orchiopexies and I would not recommend random surgery as I really think that it did more harm than good.

I have had the same situation for 6 years but not as severe. Three or four different urologists has three or four opinions of course. One said take more ibuprofen, one said I should pee more often, one said come back it there is major swelling, and one said my prostate was infected and gave an Rx for antibiotics. They gotta go permanently.
