Tens machines.

I recently bought a Tens machine. It wasn't expensive. £15, or about $22 at current exchange rates. I bought it because my lady friend often complains about aches and pains in the hip area, and I thought it might help.
Well, OK, it's great fun to have her spread nekkid and face down, over my lap, while I apply the oils and massage the achey bits. And of course my fingers (and the oils) do stray to points where angels fear to go!
And that's great fun!
But ... well, you know, she wants me to stick to the achey bits. And that can get sort of boring!
So I wondered if a tens unit would do the job for her.
Cutting a shortish story even shorter, she said it was 'interesting'.
She preferred my fingers, aparently. Even when they did insist on going where the sun doesn't shine!
Which left me with a redundant tens unit.
It came with very specific printed instructions about how to use it.
In particular, it said (several times, and in several ways) do NOT place the gel pads on (places including) the sexual organs.
Red rag to a bull, I suppose! Of course I tried it. And, well, the sensations are rather nice!
And the sensations are very more-ish!
OK, it's not an industrial-grade machine. But it does have settings that, frankly, go a little beyond what I would call pleasurable!
Does anyone here have experience of these things? Any advice to impart? Should I bin it as hazardous to my health? Or does anyone have any suggestions regarding safe usage? Duration, strength, frequency of use etc?
