Androcur and how to take it

I'm taking androcur (100mgr) for about five months and being monitored by an endocrinologist. I have not reach castration levels yet. I'm thin and have good metabolism. My liver is fine with very low lab values. I do not understand why they say that is better to take androcur divided in dosages. Is there any difference? My doc says to take the pills at the same time after dinner.

Very often pills will be divided. It can give a more uniform effects. Not sure if it will have any major effect if you take the full dose at one time.

I was looking at some of your other posts. They are not be saying the same thing. The effects do not seem the same from one thread to another. The amount of androcur you take seems to be all over the place. You have effects and then seem to loose them. Looks like you started androcur in the beginning of last August at 100mg of androcur By the third week you were only taking 50mg. A week later you were on 25mg beginning of September. You had a blood test that showed that you were almost at castration levels. The amount of testosterone you have could just being made by the adrenal gland and noting from the testicles.
When did you return to 100mg of androcur? You say you are on androcur for 5 months which would take you back to when you started. Your numbers just do not match up. Your blood test of September 4 you were at near.castration levels.
This post is beginning to look more like a made up story.

The indocine system can be very stubborn, when you start taking some anti androgen it will try to produce more testossteron to compensate and it takes some time to adjust. I once read on the manufacturer's web site it takes 125 mg a day to bring a normal man to castration level.

I'm really sorry if I confused you...
When I started taking androcur (as bobbie said and was right, I started at 100mgr and end up at 25mgr) I did a blood test when I was finally at 25mgr/day and I was almost at castration levels. The lab doctor helped me to find an endocrinologist. So I did a blood test after around two months of 50mgr dosage, as endocrinologist advised me, and my testo was raised to 2.25 ng/ml (normal values for the lab: 3-11 ng/ml). Yes, I always do my tests at the same lab.
I was very disappointed, I called the doctor the same day and he said that ALL hormonal supplements tent to have immediate and desirable results at the beginning of use(the body gets "socked" at the beginning and respond immediately), but then their effect stabilize, the body gets used to the drug, and need some time again to have full effect as the first time of use.
I'm sorry if was not really understandable, I'm Greek and my is not that good...
Since then, we raised the dosage from 50mgr to 100mgr per day for about two months...I did a blood test yesterday and my testo is still at 2.15 ng/ml almost no difference with higher drug dosage. So we decided with my doc to raise the dosage at 200mgr only for two days per week so now I'm taking 900mgr per week at total...the rest of the week is still at 100mgr/day.
So that's my story...
All I'm asking you now that if the drug is more effective if I divide my dosages, cause that's what I did the first time that I was at castration levels! The doc says it does not matter if you divide the dosage because androcur's life is high...
Please help me...have you notice any difference when taking all the pills together or one at a time? I did not listen to my doc and I decided to divide my dosage. How much time it's needed to pass to allow to eat after you take the pill?
I'm so desperate...

I have been on Androcur for a year now, along with 20mg of Tamoxifen.
I started out at 25mg, then went to 50mg and then, for several months, to 125mg in an attempt to lower my T further than what it was at 50mg. It actually increased at the larger dosage. I have been back on 50mg for some time now.
I experience many of the effects of low T observed by others on this site. I remain flaccid always and never think about sex. I take it after dinner. I had experimented splitting the dosage but I noticed no difference in its effect.
50mg is probably the absolute minimum dosage for me but as long as I remain at this level, I see no reason to increase it.

Have you got any explanation about your T increment with higher dosage?
Is it possible the drug to have the opposite effect?

I do not see any real data that is showing that your hormones are any different from on level of androcur to the other. Just going by effects is not a real test. You can have the effects while your hormones are reduced but not at castration levels. You could have even greater effects if you reduce the hormones more. Blood test is needed to know real levels.
