New guy...starting to look in to nullification

I have been interested in nullification/the possibility of SRS for a while, since before puberty, and I can't help but finally look into it. I was almost hoping the want/need would go away after puberty but it is just as strong as ever, if not more strong. Never felt right as a "man" with these things dangling between my legs and I don't think I ever will. I hope to find some answers scouring the forums and asking around, maybe get in touch with my feminine side...maybe even find the courage to tell my parents or something...who knows...Well I hope to meet all the people here who I'm sure are nice folks.

Hi Jim,

Welcome to our zoo! Would suggest that, from your short description, you give some closer attention to BIID (Body Integrity Identity Disorder). Lots of us here. Onset is usually pre-puberty, and shows signs such as you describe. If you read about it off-site, it wont mention anything about penis or balls, but be assured those appendages are included in the mix. The researcheer who originally reported BIID is writing up new materials that will include us, and will likely include in the new DSM out next year. anyway, welcome and hope you find some answers!

Yes, does sound like BIID. I suppose I also have to bring the psychological side in. How do you feel about being socially seen as a man, regardless of what your physical sex is?

If your afraid to talk to your parents is there a way you can talk to your doctor? He/she can help you get in touch with someone who is expert in this type of thing.

My feelings and desires started before puberty and never went away. Look into it while you can still do something about it. Don't wait and never get the opportunity like i did.

Like Kristoff, I would tentatively diagnose you as having BIID, not a Male-to-Female gender dysphoria. I would, of course, require far more information to be certain, but your very brief post seems to fit the criteria that are being proposed for inclusion in the DSM-V.

For those wanting their testicles and/or penis removed, to receive a diagnosis of BIID requires:

1) childhood onset with persistence into adulthood;

2) a sense of inappropriateness about the body having those particular parts;

3) a feeling that one's optimal state of being is without those parts; and

4) wanting to remain male, and not to become female.

Those with BIID who have already been castrated generally present in public as male and no one need know that they are anything other than completely male. What is critical is that they are comfortable with themselves and their body.

Regardless of any proper diagnosis, you will need to find a sympathetic counselor to help you through all of the questions that need to be answered. A professional will think of things to ask that you had never considered before but which will be critical for you to find that space where you will be comfortable.
