Gruesome murder in Soroti

THE Police in Soroti district are investigating the murder of a 28-year-old man whose genitals were cut off by unknown assailants in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased, who was killed at his home, was identified as George William Opolot and was a resident of Adyenyi village in Kadungulu sub-county, Soroti district.

The Police said the assailants found Opolot taking a bath outside his house and blinded him by splashing a red pepper solution into his eyes. They dragged him to his house, where they also blinded his wife with the same solution.

“The assailants then descended on Opolot, cut off his testicles and penis and took them,” said Peter Oduko, the Soroti acting District Police Commander.

It’s believed that Opolot died from injuries. His wife was admitted in Apapai Health Centre III.

The Police have arrested George William Odongo and a woman only identified as Susan to help in investigations.

Caligula reincarnated. Really now, what other species is so barbaric that they would do something like this. Those who did the dastardly deed need to be caught so that they do not contribute offspring to society. They are clearly defective. If they already have children their DNA should be examined for defectiveness and they should be warned to not have children.

What other species? Chimps, Baboons, cats, dogs, lions, bears, wolves, etc. Man is not alone in the murder category. Adult male cats will kill a whole litter of kittens in order to sire their own litter. I saw a TV special within the last year where a Grizzly bear killed and removed the genitals of a black bear. I watched a special about Chimps where one group chased down and murdered another chimp, actually cannibalizing him. So man is not alone in the murder category, animals might act more on instinct, but they still kill their own. I kind of think that wherever there's an abundance of testosterone, there's a chance for killing to take place.

I have been without T for 12 years but there is a man I could kill. If my abuser ever found me and tried to rape me I will take the gun away and shoot him. I know I could do this and without remorse. I doubt he would make contact after all these years but several family members are aware of my plan. I no longer have the desire to hunt him down but I have no doubt I will defend myself. I think I hate him most for bringing those feelings out of a quiet peaceful eunuch.

What is the difference between Justice and revenge?

Justice will track those people down and put them in a jail cell with someone that is bigger them and will sexually abuse them for the rest of the jail time.

Revenge would be to track them down, then tie them up naked and charge a dollar to whack the body and five dollars to whack the testicles and perhaps ten dollars if someone wants a blow job or fuck the ass! (or course this means the teeth would have to be removed)...

Here here! It sometimes makes my blood boil when people seriously think that men are alone in the violence/aggressive department. So many people claim there'd be no wars if women were the president/prime minister.

BULL SHIT. I think there is fairly recent history where women in power have led their country into battle - have to look it up to verify.

And ever seen how "catty" women get when they see another in the same outfit? It's not just men who are territorial. Ever see women fight? They pull hair, bite, scratch, etc. It often looks as though they aim to maim and disfigure their opponent permanently (regardless of what instigated the fight).

Now also consider social attitudes towards female violence - towards men in particular; a man hits a woman - even so much as a slap - and "OMG, what a bastard! Lock him up, throw away the key!". A woman strikes a man and "That bastard! He must have deserved it! What did he do?" is the most common response.

Now too consider how many reports of men being sexually maimed/mutilated. People laugh when a man is hit in groin, but when a woman has her genitalia threatened it's a whole other thing. You don't hear about men severing the clitorises of their cheating partners, but when a woman is scorned, it seems that all is fair game.

Testosterone is not the only source of aggression. I figure (havent had a test for it) that I must have a fair bit of T in my system considering my libido, yet I am the slowest to anger that I know. I have only lost my temper violently twice in my 30+ years - even then I had the good sense to take it out on a brick wall or steel door rather than the person/people who set me off. I grew up the center of attention (of bullies and mean kids). By today's standards I'd have probably "gone postal" before I was out of elementary school. (I'm not making lite of those kinds of tragedies. I was tormented daily and can understand the hate that dwells inside, but I cannot understand how kids these days are driven to shooting. I may be biased, but in many ways I feel I had it worse than them - even in the early grades if I was not being teased and bullied, other kids (younger to older) ostracized me out of ignorance. I was looked upon as a disease, as though my physical deformity was contagious. Eventually, even my best friend or many years turned and joined those who taunted me - I can't imagine a betrayal that could be much worse - yet I have NEVER been physically violent against anyone. And if anyone could claim to have a right to, it would be me.

Animals are primarily controlled by instinct and biology, so yes, cutting off their source of T calms them down, but human's actions are controlled by not just instinct and biology, but by their minds as well. The mind can override the instinct and biology, and for some those can override the mind or each other. There are also many cases where castration was administered yet that failed to quell the perpetrator in his actions so T is not a universal truth.

Well, sorry to rant but sometimes one needs to vent. Hope some of what I said makes some sense.

Richard_Less, Kristoff -- I couldn't agree with you more here!! Richard, I really want to applaud your "rant", you speak my thoughts exactly.

I've always wanted to ask, when someone makes a comment about testosterone or "men" being the cause of crime, "So you are are saying that women never get angry and never comit crimes?"

With this particular crime, I hope they catch the criminals and do something far more barbaric to them (a prison sentance just doesn't seem like enough). I mean, it is one thing if you want your genitals off and enjoy genital pain... Then maybe you'd like this sort of thing (except for the dying part of course). But for all other men this is a most henious crime and the criminals should be dealt with in a most henious manner. No compassion or mercy of any sort should be shown!!
