• Best Story Awards

Just wondered if anyone had ever thought about having an EA award for the best story posted in each category every year. Perhaps readers could vote directly or a panel of judges could select a list of the candidate stories so readers could then vote for their favourite.

The winner/winners could then be high lighted and the winning story/stories put on the front page perhaps.

Just a thought anyway, may be too difficult to organise, the voting and so forth, would be good for authors though, give us a little bit of an incentive.

One way this could be run is to open a thread for it, have members nominate their favorite stories, and then open a poll for voting on the top several stories mentioned.

The problem I've found with contests I've run on my site is that few take part in the voting, so I'm not sure how well it would reflect the popularity of a story. Too, the people taking part on the message boards may be quite different from those reading the stories.
