I understand that androcur is to lower testosterone and dutasteride to lower dht but from my research it has not been clear how helpful lowering dht is to the castration process? My thought is to maybe try dutas to start and just see what effects that has. From my reading dutas significantly (more than finesteride) reduces dht and does it pretty quickly too.

Also, what would there be to gain by combining dutas with Androcur?

I guess I'm mostly looking for peoples experience with dutasteride....

I would not go that far, i think that some people here underestimate the bearing DHT has on libido.....my wife and I participate in chastity play, I basically like her being in control of my penis. The point of telling your this is when you wear a chastity device you find out just how many night time erections one has,the night time woody wakes you up and necessitates a fair amount of concentration to get it to subside before you can go back to sleep, this cycle can happen 5 times a night...so yes you really know about it!!

When I tried andocur I found that even after taking it for some weeks my night time woodies did not subside much but when I mixed some finasteride....WHAM....no more night time wakening from woodies...actually within a week there was not much of anything at all

I ended up giving up on Androcur because I did not like the side effects...interestingly this particular cycle of chastity play only started a 6 weeks ago, and its been very tough because of been woken 4-5 times per night....I started taking finasteride again by itself and within 3 days I am now only been woken once with a half hearted attempt at an erection just before I am due to wake up anyway....Finasteride at least for me seems to have a faster and more pronounced impact on night time arousal than androcur at. The cage actually makes for a great barometer. Even with 0.25mg of finasteride per day this effect is pronounced....but even with the equivalent dose for hairloss I find over time that my mood darkens...funny though it darkens more if i am not caged than caged.

I am very curious about Dutasteride and intend to try it in place of finasteride, I will probably only low dose it though.

Rest assured though when you combine both androcur and a DHT inhibitor the effect is pretty complete....the side effects of finasteride by itself at least, other than large reduction in night time woodies is fairly minor. Interestingly with Androcur at least initially I found night time arousal INCREASED, some literature suggest this is sometimes because the levels of DHT in your system can actually increase when taking androcur...at least initially...and for some sexual offenders its suggested to mix the two together.......while i am not a sexual offender...i did find the combination of the two absolute....scary absolute.....I would think from reading about dutasteride it might be possible to achieve similar results at a even lesser dosage which can only be a good thing , and I might even get some hair back..lol
