The most annoying song in the world is "happy birthday to you". hands down.

Alvin, hands down. I would like to see that cultural variant - the south Phoenix macarena (hands behind your back, turn around, spread legs, left hand on wall, right hand on wall, patdown . . . ).

All are ones that very young females love singing. When I hear my daughter singing them, I tell her not to quit her day job.

A couple of votes:

"We Built This City (on rock and roll) by Starship. Easily one of the most horrid, over-produced, corporate "rock" ever recorded.

"Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. I love some of their music, but that song makes me barf.

I know that many here will disagree with me on this one, but I honestly find The Rolling Stone's "Emotional Rescue" to be the most hideous noise ever marketed. The falsetto singing, the lyrics, the nauseatingly repetition of the guitar lead in, overall, the WORST MUSIC IN THE HISTORY OF THE HUMAN RACE!

When I was in culinary school, a bunch of student cooks did an impromptu, very melodramatic version of the "Someone left the cake out in the rain" section, in the middle of working in the kitchen. It pretty much broke everybody up.
