Paolo, just out of curiosity, does it drive you nuts when you see a story where every sentence ends in exclamation points? I don't know about you, but if I glance at a story and I can see that it's liberally sprinkled with multiple exclamation points, I don't even bother to read it.

Just wondering what your thoughts are. You are to be congratulated and thanked for the terrific job you do. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ

I don't know about
Paolo, but that is one of the reasons I rarely read the fiction in the archives. I think the habit of ending all sentences with "!" comes from the comics, which is where most wannabe writers learn their alledged writing from. It seems to be a convention in comic books that all sentences that are not questions must end with a "!". ๐Ÿ™„

Actually, this is ONE thing I've not noticed.

With some of the disasters that I find in the tank every morning and evening - I'm down to checking only twice a day now - believe me, a few exclamation points are the least of my worries!

Exclamation points have a part to play in the English language but for proper effect should not be over-used. However, neither should they be excluded at all!!

Being a new writer I can tell you that I use exclamation points were they are needed. The thing I notice is many of those that complain never enter any writings for the rest of us to read. I dont mean to be nasty, but those that dont do critisize those that try. I have tried to included many of you in feedback polls to put stories on the archive that are enjoyable. Only 7 people even bothered to vote on the last poll I placed. I wonder if when an author tries to give people what they want, why they don't even take time to help in the endevour. I hope I don't make anyone mad, but I was just wondering why that is. Another thing. When someone does write something you like. Take a minute, and thank them. This should not be just about critism. If we keep critizing the work being done then there wont be any new stories to read.๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿ˜„ I had no idea this was such a touchy subject to so many. I was just curious about Paolo's opinion. Nevertheless, torturemycock, I owe you an apology. You asked me to read two of your stories and comment on them, and I did write down the titles, but I haven't read them yet. I've just been too busy. I'll read them soon and get back to you. And you're absolutely right. Positive feedback is what this forum should be about. For what it's worth, if I read a story that's enjoyable, I ALWAYS send the author my praises.

Cheers.:)

The last remarks was just a joke. I was directing the other toward Andwer with his cartoon analogy. I have gotten good feedback before from you. Sorry if you thought that was directed torward you. I think sometimes a remark can hurt when not intended. Hope I didn t hurt your feelings.

I was just being a bit sarcastic there, hinting at levity. 'No one get your knickers in a twist, now'. (ยฉVark, another board, expression used with permission.)
