Accessing the Archives from public terminals

I was most annoyed today to find that access to the Eunuch Archives is blocked on the computers at my local community library.
This is frustrating because I try to do most of my web-surfing on public computers (I'm stuck with an expensive wireless pre-paid broadband plan because I can't give a fixed address atm and don't have access to a land-line).
Needless to say, once I gather my thoughts, I will be sending a strongly worded e-mail to the IT staff of the library asking why access to a non-pornographic, on-line community forum has been denied, particularly when you can access all sorts of youtube rubbish and lingerie ads etc are popping up left, right and centre.
I am curious to know others experiences accessing the Archives from public terminals.

Locate a proxy server, sign in on that, and then access the EA.

Bal,
The LAST thing I'd ever want is to be perusing this or any other "adult" site and hear. from behind me, "Wow! What are YOU looking at?"
While I've never used a public 'puter I have seen people using them in a library branch and there was no privacy whatsoever.
One of the members of a little all-female castration-interest group I'm in does, in fact, work for our local public library system and she told me that before they got rather stern about what people were allowed to access on their computers they discovered several people drooling over stuff that was objectionable. That said, what is objectionable to some may be OK to others.
Library employees and staff might come under scrutiny if the authorities were do learn that forbidden materials were being accessed. For example, here at the EA "library" of stories, the castration and other abuse of minors, sad to say, is often verbally depicted. That alone might cause a surfer to be arrested if he/she were proven to have accessed same. A really aggressive prosecution might engulf library staff as well since they had, however unknowingly, allowed said access.
She has told me that there are some persons who come in a spend their allotted time staring at lingerie catalogs on-line and it's a cinch they weren't planning to order.
Just my two cents worth,
Yoli
That nice girl down the lane.

There was a very strict firewall and blocking software I worked and one of the IT techs told me that the way the "dirty old men" got around the blocks to see semi-naked women was to compile a list of "Radio Babes." It seemed that many disc jockeys have a "Babe of the Day" for women to send their pictures in skimpy outfits and these guys had long lists of bookmarked radio stations that they could visit without the blocking software objecting.
I once asked one of these drooling jackasses (he made comments about every woman at work no matter how old/young, shape, or variety) why when he had a gorgeous wife, did he even bother looking at another woman. He just stuttered and drooled. His wife was a very pretty woman. To this day, I don't understand his "wandering" eyes and salacious mouth.

The question is not what I have as an avatar, but would you read the posts if I removed the avatar? In the past the answer to that question has been a resounding no by several members.
Personally, I would never log into public servers to view this site. I don't even log into my Blogger or email Accounts on public computers. I protect my access to the EA.

I'm guessing this individual had accessed the archive at the library many times and that he didn't delete his browsing history before he left the computer. This probably caused someone else to trip across the archive, they found it objectionable, then the library staff added it to the list of forbidden sites in their filter.
When I've used public access computers, I've always made sure to delete and scrub the trail as best I can out of the web browser on the terminal I was using before I leave, just to avoid this kind of thing.

Thank you everybody for your feedback. Having had some time to cool-off and read some of the comments here, the message is coming through loud and clear: Do NOT draw attention to myself or the Archive by pursuing this matter.

Actually, yesterday was the first (and last) time I tried to access the Archive from a public computer. I think what happened was that since I am not all embarrased about visiting the forums to address my issues, I forgot that an adult discussion about castration and voluntarily reducing one's sex drive might seem... unusual to the general public.

I hav no problems accessing eunuch archives ever even with the filter on. I just know how is all. But when I have an X-rated offensive avatar in front of me and somebody is walking behind me... GUESS WHAT? Then I'd have to explain that I'm really not looking at gay porn. But the easier thing to do rather than hide all the avatars is to avoid Dave like the plague. I'm sorry but that's what I have to do. It has nothing to do whether I agree with Dave or not it's that I don't want Dave's avatar to be seen in public and to get me thrown out of some place that I want to be in. That's it, Dave.

ALL,
I will go ahead and throw in my two cents worth. I have come to have a lot of respect for the EA. I am a chemically castrated eunuch and the board has helped me a lot. It is also one of the nicest group of people I have encountered on the many boards I visit.
I am a published author of erotic fiction. I admit I have not published now for some years, but I think this type of literature has its place. When my wife died back in the 90’s I was lonely and, to be frank, a lot of women will not date a eunuch. (The good news is that a lot are overwhelmed with joy to find one.) My sex life revolved for a while around erotic fiction. And I have absolutely no qualms about this.
The way I look at it is that a lot of the stories here are not my cup of tea, but, then, in any large library there will be works you like and works you don’t. Some of the stories here are well written and I enjoy reading.
The only place where I did get a bit nervous was that Japanese comic book art that did clearly depict young girls being forcibly mutilated. Comic book art to my knowledge is legal and I trust the powers to be here at the EA to have checked into such matters.
If I were a librarian, the EA would be classified as “adult material,” but if you get right down to it a lot of stuff in the Bible is just as raunchy as anything here. The EA represents a valuable resource for research into an aspect of human behavior. Indeed in its domain, the best I know of. Should be available in any good library.
Regards, Glenda
