If this isn't just cool... a fine start to a mash-up of two favorites, the San Carlos Islands tales and the more recent Stepfather group of stories.

It looks like you are taking us back, to the beginning of the islands' history; at first I was not sure, as it seemed at first glance to be later in the story 'arc', but no; here we are, reading about the START of the whole endevour. Nice to learn about the beginnings of Bens' relationship with Del Ray (I almost put "Del Toro"... there's a roll Benicio would probably turn down!).

Thanks for this story, Sander. A fun read, some new history, and something to look forward to as you add chapters.

This could prove very interesting.

I think he spelled Ben's last name wrong, though. Have to check that.

The scene where Ben marched into the Principal's office was kinda chilling, in a suspenseful way. Very well done.
