Depo Provera vs Androcur, How do they work???

Are the following assumptions correct?
Depo Provera vs Androcur to reduce excessive male libido.
They work in different ways?????????
I think Depo Provera works by reducing the amount of testosterone in a man body and even eventually shutting off production from the testicles???? So the overall level of testosterone drops dramatically.
I think a combination of Siterone (generic Androcur) and maybe a small dose of Tamoxifen act by blocking the effect of testosterone, but do not actually reduce production of testosterone in the body. So the overall level of testosterone may not change much, but the various effects of T would almost be eliminated.
Does one have an advantage over the other?
Can they be taken at the same time without any problem?

There are always advantages and disadvantages depending on your point of view. Depo-Provera is effective and safe enough so that it is administered in judicial chemical castrations but the dosages used there are more than any I have seen used by guys here. It is an injection so can you do that yourself? Injections are usually done every 3-4 weeks in most cases- more frequently in judicial situations. It is also a FDA approved drug and available in the US but still may have to be obtained offshore if you don't get a prescription for it.
Siterone is tablets to be taking daily or more, is probably more expensive and because it is not FDA approved, you will have to get it from an offshore pharmacy. Because it is taken more often, it is easier for you to tailor its dosage to your needs.
And yes, I did take them at the same time. I was on DP for about 2 1/2 years and had my testosterone level down to just under 100. My doctor wanted to wait for 3 months to see about what to do with my testes but said he would remove them if my testosterone level in 3 months was the same or lower. So I added 150 mg daily of Siterone the last month before the test. My T was 44 and now I am castrated so both worked well together in my case.

Taking both is sort of over kill. Both will reduce the testosterone levels. If one drug reduces your level to almost none, why take another. Androcur will have less long term effects. Depo Prevera will cause permanent damage sooner and is not reversible in the same time frame as androcur.
Both work different on the body but have similar effects. Reduce the testosterone levels.

Yes, it probably was overkill to take both at once but in my situation, I think it was a reasonable thing to do. If I would have just continued with only the Depo Provera it seems reasonable to think that my testosterone level would have remained at the same level. But if I could make it even lower, I knew I would be guaranteed to have my doctor do an orchiectomy which was my goal in the first place and to get it done safely in a hospital setting and further, have my insurance pay for it all.
So I thought it was reasonable to add the Siterone for the last month before the all-important testosterone test to insure my T level would not just be similar, but in fact be lower. I'm certainly not suggesting that anyone else follow this path- my situation was different than most other eunuchs here. I was just responding to the question if it was possible to take both at the same time- not if it was necessary or desired to take both together; simply that it was possible.

I was on depo-provera for two years before switching to androcur last year. I really did not notice any difference except that after my d-p shot I was fatigued for about a day. Seems like with daily androcur pills my t-levels are more steady.
Good Luck,
Don

What doses did you guys use for DP? Would 150mg DP every 3-4 weeks alone be effective enough to blow away anything that might be achieved by Spiro do you think? I am keen to hear anything about DP. I had been on Spiro 200mg + Proscar 5mg daily for 4 months and my libido was always there and those damn body hair grew thicker and faster all the time. Guess Spiro can't really help much. I want to use a DP dose that knocks T to the ground (though not able to afford the judical doses). What dose of DP might be comparable to 100mg daily androcur? Besides, would it be better if for example I take 50mg DP weekly instead of 150mg every 3 weeks (so the T level gets more steady)? Thanks in advance for any replies.
