Frenulectomy

I have just had a radical frenulectomy, I am so pleased with it, I have wanted one for ages, I was circumsised two years ago and only had my frenulum shaved, which i was almost in tears about afterwards as i asked the doctor for a radical one.
Getting a UK doctor to do this has been almost impossible, but i went to the circumsision centre in the uk and asked them if they could do it and , yes at last
was done yesterday afternoon, I am so happy about it,:)

Good for you. I was cut as an infant as were almost all boys my age in the US. The doctor took most all of my frenulum when he did me. To my way of thinking that is a good thing as this is a fragile piece of tissue and is left unprotected for those who are circumcised. No, I don't want my foreskin back.

Personally, I find it an annoying little thing to have.
Having been circumcised as an infant, therefore not remembering a THING about the foreskin, I have always found it an aggravation.
I'm not a fan of routine infant circumcision (and let's NOT turn this thread into that debate again, please!), but I think if you're going to be circ'd, then this should also go as well.
Others? Your thoughts on your own frenum / frenulum? (not the one that holds your lip up, either.)

Paolo, Doctors in the uk are really funny about moving the frenulum. I have no idea why,
I still cant forgive my first urologist who gave me a low and loose when I asked for a high and tight circumsision because during the operation he thought a high and tight would look stupid, but failed to tell me , even though I was awake.
it will cost me more to rectify this but I will do it. thanks for your support lads

I prefer frenulum removed completely.
I was circumcised twice. first time 11 y ago and second time 5 years ago. The reason for second circumcision was approx. the same as ukeunuchs. While I wanted to have it low and tight and frenulum removed as radically as possible, I got it low but not so tight with frenulum quite intact.
Second circ corrected that mistake. Now it looks like I was born without frenulum and foreskin, scar hidden right behind glans.
The reason I wanted it this way.. hard to tell, no practical reasons. This style removes most if not all the sensitive part of foreskin, and tightness leave glans bare even in veryvery flaccid state. thats what I wanted. Thats what I like it to be.
So tastes are different, I guess different people have different reasons.
Still I feel sorry for these guys whose foreskins were removed as infants.

I was lucky, in hindsight. Being British as a baby my foreskin was left but by the time I was about 2, I was in medical need of having it removed and it was done so, at home by my Dr. Sadly the frenulum was left (which is normal) I've seen photos of US guys who had circumcisions with the frenulum removed and their penises look neater and nicer. I don't see what purpose was felt in leaving it. The main thing though was that I was fortunate. Of course I grew up and saw all other males here with foreskins and I've always found them them particularly ugly and unpleasant.

I'm pleased to have the substantial frenum remnant that my circ at birth (in California) didn't take. It's by far the most sensitive and orgasm-triggering feature of my cock, even after I restored a facsimile foreskin and gained more glans sensitivity. My brother, who also restored, believes our delivery doctor used a freehand circ method, base on the minimal frenum removal we got. He's pleased with that too. No problems with it remaining ever happened to either of us.

I was not circumcised as an infant, but I grew up slightly preferring the look of a circumcised penis. I got into self piercing in my teens, and during my early 20s I cut my own frenulum because I did not like the way it pulled my cockhead over when I had a full erection.
When I was 30 I got myself circumcised by a surgeon in a hospital. I asked him to do a fairly high and tight circumcision in order to remove some high foreskin piercings that I no longer used. I was a bit surprised by how little penis skin this left me. Erections were very tight and really pulled at the circumcision scar, and my erect penis was shorter by nearly an inch! The surgeon told me not to worry because the skin would stretch in time. Well, it did slightly, but I also developed a bit of what's known as 'turkey neck', which is when scrotal skin is pulled forward onto the penis shaft to replace lost shaft skin. I regained my lost inch, so I wasn't too bothered. I later got into pe (penis enlargement techniques) and managed to gain another half inch in length (as well as some girth) so I did ok really. If I had my time over again, I think I'd still choose circumcision, but not so tight, because in hindsight I think another inch, maybe two, of shaft skin would have fitted better

My frenulectomy has healed fully on Glans, but the shaft has an infection in it, on high doses of antibiotics, and am expecting an ugly scar if it heals properly.
Why can nothing be simple
Also using an antibiotic cream on the wound itsself, I just knew my diabetes wouldnt let it pass simply

Sorry to hear about your infection. I hope it clears up quickly. Things always look frightening with an infection, but I don't think you should expect much extra scarring.
I was a bit worried just after my circumcision. I did not have an infection but there were 17 stitches and the skin was puckered here and there so the circumcision line looked a bit jagged and lumpy. After a few days my erections were causing the 'scar' to pull open a little in one area because the stitches were dissolving already. However it all healed ok. I had a couple of skin tags along the 'scar' line but they were easily removed later. Years on, the result is not as smooth as it would have been were I circumcised in infancy, but I'm happy with the result, and I enjoy the fact that I know what I'm missing. I feel so sorry for guys who lost their foreskin as babies and wish they hadn't. That's so difficult to come to terms with. Much better to leave babies alone I think.
Keep us informed on your progress. Good luck.
