Carpenter cuts off penis in "accident"
I always have the feeling these incidents aren't exactly accidents. I know I have to keep away from sharp objects when I'm drunk.

Drunken Carpenter Accidentally Cuts Off His Own Penis During DIY

A Brit carpenter, who tried doing a DIY job while drunk, is said to have cut off his own penis in the process.
Stuart Keen, 54, suffered horrific injuries after he cut himself with the saw he was using to cut wood for a cabinet he was making in his home workshop.
"Help me - I'm bleeding to death," the Telegraph quoted him as having told the emergency services operator.
When the police and ambulance crews rushed to Keen's home in Wantage, Oxfordshire, they found him and the severed penis in the bath, and immediately took him to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
Doctors have managed to reattach the organ, and said that he was in a "stable condition".
"Stuart had a very nasty accident with a saw but he is recovering now," his mother Edna, 84, said.
"He suffered tissue damage and had surgery to stitch him up which, I understand, was successful.
"I have spoken to him and he is quite embarrassed about the whole incident. I was in Somerset when it happened and got a call from the hospital.
"Hopefully he will be home next week and be able to get back to work which he loves.
"Stuart is a carpenter and uses sharp and sometimes dangerous tools.
"This was an unfortunate accident but these things happen all the time to people in his profession," she added.

Re: Carpenter cuts off penis in "accident"
That is actually not an uncommon injury among capenters and building framers. My guess would be that he was using a skilsaw. It is a power hand saw with a fast spinning circular blade. The first thing my boss taught me when teaching me how to use a skilsaw was how not to cut my penis, balls, or femoral artery.
You dont have your saw horses with you at all times on the job so you have to cut lengths of wood while balancing it on your foot. You take the 2x4, mark the line to cut, put line on the right side of your right foot. Then balance it on your right foot holding it steady with your left hand, bend from the waist and cut it with your right hand. If the wood binds the saw will shoot backwards blade first. If you do it that way, it will shoot back and just swing in your hand. But if you have the wood balanced on your left foot cutting with your right hand and the wood binds...look out.

I never do the foot trick - always worth the time to find a horse or truck tail gate...

Re: Carpenter cuts off penis in "accident"
If it was a genuine injury caused by a fast circular blade, wouldn't it sort of split his dick rather than slice it off? Fact that they could reattach it without much fuss suggests that it was a nice clean cut. Somehow the cut direction doesn't match the scenario of a spinning blade swinging backwards. It's at 90 degrees to it in fact.

I guess that is why I always keep my body away from the saw, skill or hand, when cutting wood. Since I do have collapsible sawhorses I can always have them available to use. I am more afraid for my fingers.

If you've ever worked with a circular saw, or seen some of the crazy shit some people (a number of them idiots) do, what he did is VERY possible. I've seen some pretty hideous injuries with these and other saws. Shit, grandad even cut his thumb off with an electric egg beater. It's possible.

But Mommy Dearest was in Somerset of course, and has an airtight alibi....
On second thought maybe someone should check out which cell tower she received that call from the hospital on.....

Re: Carpenter cuts off penis in "accident"
O.K. I'm a doubter and I think sooner or later he'll admit he did it on purpose and that being drunk was a good excuse. Let's consider a few things that have not been considered.
1 - Was he wearing pants or at least underwear? That would have kept his penis confined to a certain degree. Only if he was naked would the penis have been exposed and vulnerable to excision with the saw.
2 - When the penis is flaccid it shrinks and hides/retracts to a certain degree. It would not therefore have been protruding (sticking out) where the saw could easily slice it off.
3 - Alcohol not only affects the mind, it affects the penis. If he was/is a heavy drinker his ability to "get it up" was/is probably inhibited. His penis was again probably shrunk up.
4 - Alcohol can cause erections erections early on. Excerpt: "The effect of alcohol on the penis is twofold. The most important effect is on the brain which controls erection and orgasm. ‘Brewers drop’ is a result of this action. It can also affect the dilation of the blood vessels allowing the blood to escape from the penis instead of building up the pressure which produces the erection. In practice, a moderate amount of alcohol probably helps an erection either directly or centrally on your brain. Constant heavy drinking, however, can cause hardening of the arteries especially if you smoke as well. Your blood pressure remains high and this prevents a satisfactory erection taking place."
5 - If he had an erection, normal erections point drastically upwards. To cut the penis off the saw blade would have to have been purposely turned towards the body or erect penis sideways. Being drunk, yes that could have happened, but I think he would have disemboweled himself too.
6 - The usual size of normal saw blades are approx. 7 1/4 inches (correct me if I'm wrong). Yes, there are some newer smaller saws with smaller saw blades and this was England so no telling what size was being used. However, I can't believe that only the penis was cut off, there had to be some additional body damage and that's not discussed.
7 - Lastly, even though drunk, he used the excuse that he was working in his workshop. He therefore had some mental acuity, which makes me believe that he used drunkeness as an excuse to follow through with his hidden desire for a penectomy or perhaps being drunk gave him the courage to do it or made him delusional, but I think there was a hidden desire and in his drunken condition he was able to carry it out.
Comments please. I seriously doubt that his penis will work properly after this horrific dismemberment. Power saws do not leave clean cuts in human flesh, he probably will lose more than an inch or two in length. P.S. Who carried his penis to the hospital?
