Effects of surgical castration on older men?

Can anyone please tell me what bodily effects to expect after castration? Particularly feminisation effects? I am a 64yo man and working my way through the medical barriers to get castrated in July, one signature to go! I am aware of the general after effects of castration, and that the effects diminish with age. I just wonder if someone has had experience of castration in their sixties, particularly with feminisation effects such as size of breast growth, hair reduction, and body fat relocation. Many thanks,

I was done in my 50's. The side effects seem to be about the same as guys done in their 30's or 40's. It is always depend on the person. Some guys have higher testosterone levels longer in life then others. Best to try chemical castration first to see just how it will effect you.

I'd agree with Bobbie. I was castrated at 61 after a lengthy chemical castration trial and really don't see much in the way of physical changes. I do take a low dose of TRT. The most notable was without TRT, my skin was very dry and itchy, is more oily now on TRT. In general, older guys have lower testosterone anyway so there won't be as much change when they have their testes removed.

I was castrated at 62. I have noticed a few changes. There is some fat redistribution, mostly to breast and ass, but not too much. I have lost most (50%-75%) of my strength. Body hair went berserk when I tried TRT but has settled down now. I carried too much weight from the start so I have not noticed any weight gain. Sexual function is low as you would expect. I still am interested in sexual matters but at a different level than before castration. Any other questions? Just ask me. --FLO--

The largest population of castrated seniors is, of course, advanced prostate cancer patients. Most of them are otherwise healthy, so they would provide a good model for you. They, of course, do not want to be castrated, so their psychological reactions would be different, but their physical changes would be identical.
The three senior Archive members who have already responded have given good advice, but you might also approach your local prostate cancer support group for any printed information that they might have.

I was castrated when I was 67. That was 4 years ago. I am on low level TRT to ward off osteoporosis. The only thing I have noticed is the tendency to gain weight....not much yet...maybe 6 pounds which is now coming off while working out at the gym. Breasts have gotter a little larger but nowhere near having to go to a bra. Body hair for me has not changed. Most of mine is hereditary . I wold love to lose the chest, stomach, and pubes hair. That would end a lot of shaving. I keep chest clipped and pubes shaved. Beard is not quite as thick as it was. I would not mind it going away also.

I was castrated @ 57 and so far am not experiencing any of the issues as discussed on this board. It was a long held desire to be denutted ( held for 40 odd years) and as my banding behaviour was getting out of control I made the move to get a freind to surgically castrate me. One fully subincised, heavily tattooed, eunuch here !!! kiwieunuch@gmail.com Peace brothers Derko

Hi Gandalf, you mention you exercise, how has your strength & stamina been affected since castration as a general percentage reduction?
Cheers,

Hi Unc Flo, Re. your reduction in strength, has this happened over time and do you exercise at all? I currently jog & cycle regularly and intend to continue this after being de-balled.
Cheers,

I was quite strong before castration (help me move, lift this, etc.) so the change is relative to that. The change did happen over time. My ability to exercise is limited by bad circulation in my legs and by arthritis (mostly in my knees and spine) and chronic pain associated with these conditions. I do a fitness class every week and I try to take a short walk daily. I think most who are castrated have some loss of strength but not to the extent that I have had. --FLO--
