During the Western Conference finals for the NHL Stanley Cup, Nicklas Lidstrom, the Captain of the Detroit Red Wings was speared in the scrotum by Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks. The result was a lacerated testicle. He did miss the final two games of that series, but Lidstrom went on to play in all seven games of the finals.
