It makes me wonder if they are just seeing what sort or reply they get if any or if they are just plan old stupid.

Personally i go for the latter myself in a quick judgment. Well it takes allsorts to make the world and when we can have a good laugh at other peoples thoughts then it makes this a happy place to be

anyone who has dealings with the general public will tell you that it impossible to anticipate the natural level of stupidity of the general public. You spend a lot of time making things so simple that it is impossible for anyone to get it wrong and, sure enough, you find that 50% find it too hard.

Could this be the answer to the whole open vs. closed universe argument?

Could the scientists involved simply have forgotten to include the density of the lifeforms involved? Could the sheer mass of all the stupidity out there be enough to cause the universe to collapse again?

Hmmm my personal view is if someone (preferably some incredibly sexy Woman - see Antonia's picture in case you don't know what one looks like:D ) were to castrate the majority of males on this planet then the inherent level of the public's stupidity would drastically decrease
