I am 49yo healthy straight male that is interested in castration, but wanting to use HRT replacement. Dont want to be a sexless eunuch, I just want the balls gone, more of a body mod than a lifestyle change. I've been lurking on the Eunuch Archive and BME for many years enjoying the stories and learning what I can from other contributors.

I would very much try chemical castration anyways for 6 months to a year. Even knowing that you want to be on HRT. The reason being that you my be one of the guys that have a problem with taking hormone replacements. Replacements are not as good as the real think. Many guys suffer from high and lows from the drugs. Times between shots. The patch works better but you may be allergic to the patch.

HRT has many known factors that cannot be protected. You do not know just how the side effects will be felt towards you. So knowing just what being an eunuch would be like is something that needs to be considered. There is always the studies that we do not fully know the long term effects on the body of HRT.

The mental effects of castration are very strong and are a variable that you cannot know in advance. You may have some depression. You may go into some deep depression once you realize that castration was just a fantasy and a mistake.

One last thing that has to be considered is the mental one. Very many guys want to be castrated. In reality very few really want it done. It turns out that they just have a very deep fantasy about being one. The fact that you want to stay fully masculine has no bearing on this. The mental effects are just the same as the ones that want no male hormones. I know one guy that was castrated. Think he was on hormones the next week. It was his plan from the beginning. Wanted to be a man in every way just no balls. It has worked out very well for him.

Castration is a life changing. Do not let anyone tell you any difference.

I guess my assumptions were that HRT therapy could restore "normal" life and function after castration or very close to it, so I never considered chemically castrating myself to see what the worst case scenario might be like. Too much faith in modern medicine perhaps...

Are there side effects that I should be super concerned about? It is so difficult to find this sort of information as I'm sure you are well aware.

The major bad side effects are depression, osteoporosis, self guilt for having it done. The physical and mental changes can be upsetting. Some years later you may change and decide that you would like to have a child.

You maybe 1000% sure that you would never want. But life does change and you could be very sorry years later. That is one of the great unknowns.

Oh, trust me, I'm 49, already have 2 wonderful grownup kids and 10000% certain I never want any more children. The lack of abilty to reproduce further is a non-issue. However, inadvertant medical problems associated with hormones is concern.

Perhaps I am overly confident in modern medicine to artifically keep my hormonal levels at a healthy and regularted point if I voluntarily remove the natural sources. This is a strong fantasy I have to do this as a mod to my body, but not to my life. I love sex too much to turn it off. The thought of being able to control my sex drive is also appealing, in theory.

Hey,

You are not the only one looking for that cut. But I want it really to turn of sex. I am not 10000% sure, only 100% that if I find out that it was a mistake, I will make a bow to live and admit and accept that I made a mistake, and pay for it. I told people before, if I have to find out that I made a mistake, I will still have the nuts to tell you.

My advice to you would be to think at least 10000 times before you start to play

loveUall

Jean

luke1812.

It is a major decision that you are contemplating. Removing your balls is a very major change, not so much physically , but it can have other effects.

I am a fairly recent eunuch , who has been on HRT for many years before the removal. With correct dosing , and monitering, HRT can do wonders. I still have an amazingly strong libido, and no issues at all with performance.

Getting the HRT correct is key to that kind of success though, and it can take a long time.

There are many on this site who use HRT, and the best recommendation I could offer you , is to open a dialogue with some of them. No better insight could come than from those who are doing what you plan to. You may change your mind, or it may harden your resolve to complete the process.

Keep in mind no matter how many of us you speak to , your personal situation may vary greatly. Just because others have no issues post castration does not mean that you won't depending on your health in other ways, lifestyle, and habits. Take all those factors into consideration before snipping them off.

Good luck in your search for answers.
