I finally got Androcur...

It basically comes to the subject...

I ordered androcur a week ago on site of russain farmacy. Three days after that I got a call, confirmed that I would pick it up myself, and went to the specified farmacy. Paid in cash, no questions asked (well androcur in Russia is in "list B" - should be available only on prescription).

So now is the question. Would 50mg/day be too small dose to take effect? Or should I follow advice given here (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=12114) - twice a day 50mg for 3 weeks and then switch to 50mg/day maintance.

Most will start out at 100mg a day. Try that for a month or two. Adjust that up or down 50mg on your effects.

Wish you all the best. Keep us updated.

Standard practice is like bobbie describes. Higher dose for the first week and then lower the dose gradually to maintain the effects. I've heard also that people have started at 150 level. It probably depends on T-levels, that doctors decide upon. But I am no doctor here.

Close my eyes, wish you well...

Thanks for answers. So probably one more thing on checklist - take blood test for testosterone levels. At least to do it right and check before and after.

This is a good idea. Sure, androcur will affect T-levels. Only T-levels do not show you what is going on in reality, as Androcur will affect you via blocking T receptors from T, not via lowering your T-levels. Lowered T is a side effect of taking Androcur. Probably you will feel effects much earlier. Before T-levels actually drop.

If he is lucky like me, androcur might have some very pleasant side effects.

I had problems with all kind of infections for years, as well as aquagenic puritis, itching all over my body. The infections and the itching were history after a few months of androcur. But it took a terrible time for androcur to do the real job on 250mg/day

I started with daily 100mg Siterone this year in January and quickly reduced to 50mg due to tiredness and lack of energy. Energy is still lower than before starting, but more constant and higher than when on 100mg. Other side effects have been minimal and some good. Slowly becoming more connected with emotions. Three plus months in, sexual interest and performance is dwindling. Every journey seems unique.

When you get the chance, keep us posted on your journey.

I have the the same observations as mykeCali, having also been on Androcur since the New Year. Right now I'm taking 75mg but plan on reducing it to 50mg the end of the month. I'm also taking 20mg of Tamoxifen and DHEA 25 for about a month now, which seems to give me more energy than when I wasn't taking it.

Some updates.

I started at 100mg/day at 15.05.2009.

First changes were not strong, I felt cold easier and I felt tired a bit easier during physical activities. It was as early, as on third/fourth day.

Day 5-th - noticed, that I'm feeling more calm. It was the first day, at which I lost morning erection. Felt really tired in the evening.

Day 7-th - once more, in the evening I felt tired, really tired. At least coffee helps for this.

Day 9-th - dropped dose to 50mg/day.

Libido dropped almost to zero from about day 5.

Also I'm feeling calmer, don't know if it is much or not.

All I can say now - I am surprised - I thought, that it would take much longer time.

Strange thing is that I'm feeling comfortable with this effects.

PS. I have already written this post yesterday, but PDA's browser crash ate it:(.

PPS. It's 3am here, so probably this post has mistakes and typos. Will check for them tomorrow.
