I Guess I'm There!

Just heard from my doctor today that my T-Level is 115 which is just slightly less then half of the normal bottom level. Sex is gone as a double shot of Viagra won't do much and it appears that I'm having some serious atrophy of the penis & testicles. Just curious though, what are the T-levels of those of you that have been successfully castrated either chemically or surgically?

Im my case a high of 75 to a low of 35 after surgical castration nearly two years ago. I use small amounts of testosterone at rare intervals. --FLO--

The T-level of 115 is sort of meaning less with out knowing the scale being used. There are many different measurement methods used. There should be some letters after the measurement. ng/hl could be one. There should also be a scale with the measurement giving the normal scale for a male. With that information it would be a meaning full number. Shrinkage happens over a period of time. Do not know what you are taking to lower your hormones and how long. It is not an over night happening.
Now viagra or cialis are drugs that work the same if you have male hormones or no male hormones. The drugs are not related to testosterone. They work on the blood flow to the penis. Both drugs are given to guys with lowered testosterone levels. So a double shot of viagra has nothing to do with castration or a sign of low testosterone. Think your mind had more of a effect over the lack of erection. The drugs help you get erect when you get stimilated. The mind has a large effect on how and when we get erect.

Agree with Bobbie - much like blood sugar, there are different scales.
In the case of sugar, mg/dl (USA) and mmol (everywhere else) are two VERY different readings!
Can you find out what scale they used?

Here are my measurements in one system. This is more then a year after my castration and more then 2 years of chemical castration. There is more then one test for testosterone. It is made up of several parts. There can be more sub tests as well.
If you notice each test is using a different measurement system. One is milliliters. and the other in deciliters.
Testosterone Free and Total -----------------1.8 pg/ml --------Normal male range is 47.0 -244.0 pg/ml
Testosterone Total ----------------------------8.0 ng/dl------- Normal male range is 350-890 ng/dl

OK, I can still do math and solve word problems. If slightly less than half X is 115, what is X? Let's add 10 to the 115 to bring it up to half X at 125. Twice that would give 250 as a pretty good approximation of the lower range for normal for his lab. While you may think 115 is low, it really isn't that low compared to 250.
I had 2 testosterone tests done while I was on chemicals. The first was 95 on a normal range of 280-1080. The second was 44 with a normal range of 175-745(?)- I really didn't pay that much attention to the upper number that time. And, yes, I could feel the physical differences between those two tests.
I don't know what my level would be after I was physically castrated. I started taking a low dose of testosterone 10 days before my ochiectomy to hopefully regain some muscle mass/strength that disappeared with my very low T. My doctor is looking for about 300 at my next test in June. I'm aiming for 100-150. It is neat being able to play with my daily T gel dose and feel the differences in a couple days.

That would put you very close to castration level. The unknown variable is how much your adrenal gland is making. You should be feeling the effects. Would not think their would be little change from where you are at and the real thing.
You have not said how long you have been at this level. The length of time at castration level is important for the side effects. They do not all happen at first. Many take months to really become noticeable.

This is the first time that I've had my T-levels tested. I do suspect that my T-level has been at this level for quite some time. I tried to get my last doctor to check my T-levels but he refused to do it saying there was no reason for it. I find it quite amusing that my current doctor who is a gal fresh out of med school has found out more about me and done more for me then my last family doc did the whole time I was seeing him.
BTW... I've been on psych meds some of which can cause the blockage of production of testosterone for about 3 years now. I'm guessing that is where my low t-levels are coming from.
As far as the side effects of low t-levels I've pretty much got them all. Weight gain, mood fluctuations, hot flashes, enlarged breasts, penile shrinkage, testicular atrophy, & all the rest.
