Does anyone know how come the video on Naked News is so good compared with any other video download that I've ben able to find?

It downloads faster than anything else and can display in good quality on full screen. If there is a delay it continues to download while you stop the show and do something else on the pc for a few minutes. When you start it again it runs straight to the end.

Why can't it all be this good?

They probably have a really big/good Webserver, and a really big Internet Pipe (ie: lots of Bandwidth).

Or maybe not a lot of people are watching it. Even with a good Server and loads of Bandwidth, if a whole bunch of people watch at the same time, the site will be slow.

Also, some types of Video Codecs (ie: Compression and/or the type of file they use to store thier Videos in) are much better than others at Pausing and Resuming. Most sites today use FLASH, which is generally lower quality, and sometimes isn't very good at Pausing/Resuming.

Yeah there are a lot of reasons that some sites run smoother than others.

Because they are naked.

In response to your question some web sites have faster and better servers than others, which make a big difference in download speed and the behavior of streaming videos. The way they are connected to the Internet always plays a big factor in the response, e.g; a T-1 connection verses a T-3 connection.
