Quotes from Albert Einstein

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity...and I'm not sure about the universe.

The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.

He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.

The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.

A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend upon the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the measure as I have received and am still receiving.

Everything should be made as simple as possible...but not simpler.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mystical. It is the source of all true art and science.

The pioneers of a warless world are the young men who refuse military service

Which explains perfectly why our current financial mess won't be resolved any time soon.

You know, I read this thread yesterday and this particular one sticks with me. I cannot get it out of my mind. The more I think about it, the dumber I feel. Does anybody have any suggestions for reading about levels of thinking and the application to problems?

Don't feel dumb.

If Einstein hadn't lock his thoughts on material matters, he would have understood the mistery of dead / eternal live / heaven and hell

He had and he was a great mind, but that doesn't mean that he had an open mind

For the real meaning of his theory, he was blind................

Why do I get the feeling that you both didn't read or didn't understand my story: <In return for:for the love of Jason>

ctrl C > ctrl V

If we die, that is really the end, there is no live after death. But we need a closer look at that end. Close to the end our mind speeds up, if you know you are going to die, you may review your live in a part of a second. The moment our thoughts set free from any matter they reaches lightspeed. That means the time will stop. Eternity doesn’t take any time. It is enclosed in that moment of death. And stopping the time also includes that the speed becomes infinite. Two very big steps for a human to take. There is something, we would call God, but it only gives us eternal live, it is alive itself and not eternal, it is evolving with us, and once it will die. As time stops, time doesn’t exist, and without a feeling for time you can put nothing in order. Without time there can be only chaos. So it needs us. We have our live, the time ticking away, and when we pass over we have that time feeling. So by the way of speaking he is consuming us and witout us, he will come to his end. His existence is a law of nature. Everywhere intelligent live dies, there will be a god, or one will be born. If we realize his way to communicate, telepathic, and the infinite speed to do that we should realize what we are still missing as we do not develop this facility.

I did read you story, and thanks for posting it. I have read every story on the archieve including the foreign language ones (very poor translation from altavista bablefish).

I think I understand the point you are trying to make, and I am sure you are right, its not something Einstein would have come up with. It does not make you view any less valid, you have adopted a very mystical interpretation of yours, and others reported experiences and it is a very subjective view.

Einstein did appreciate the mystical side to life but he worked and reported things much more objectively, or, as you say materialy. He only reported and wrote up scientific observations that were repeatable as experiments by anyone, he tried to explain some very strange phenomena in mathmatical and theoretical terms that were empiricaly provable.

I think it important to seperate the proffesional scientific work from the personal viewpoint of Einstein. I do not believe he was just a cold clinical scientist and I believe he was well aware of the potential mystical interpretation of some aspects of his work though he may have chosen not to write them up to avoid his professional credability being questioned on more important issues. I am confident that had the oppertunity arrisen you could have had a very interesting conversation with him on many metaphysical issues and far from finding him a man witha closed mind you may have come away further enlightened.

If you read carefully you will see that I only took the conclusion that having and being a great mind does not mean that he has to be an open mind. I stay far from calling him a closed mind. As you say:

That is why I used the word blind. Being so close, and not recognize the simplicity of the meaning of live.

Because that is what it is....

Wasn't that what he said?

The whole system of live and death, God, heaven and hell is basically as simple as possible and with the highest efficiency we can imagine.

I think it is just a big joke that he who could formulate things like he did, offered us a sentence like that, walking so closely to the

not seeing it.

No it makes it more valid. Einstein made it possible for me to understand what was going on, and I know it is almost impossible to prove. But if you check that simplicity together with his theory, maybe he is the one who came closest to that prove.

But sometimes if I read the postings about this matter, I get the feeling that it is very important to use difficult words and trow around with names of famous people to be trustworthy.

I've got the word viaduct twice, maybe somebody like to exchange with me.

Please let me see and feel what your mind can do, don't use the force of others and keep the postings ......
