R. Nick Gorton MD, Jamie Buth MD, and Dean Spade ESQ (he’s a lawyer) have written a 98 page guidebook for Female-to-Male transitioning titled Medical Therapy & Health Maintenance for Transgender Men: A Guide for Health Care Providers.

Since much of it has to do with testosterone and its effects on the body and on health, I thought that some here, especially those on HRT, might find it useful. They have posted it on-line at www.nickgorton.org, where it is available in multiple formats. While it is free, they do ask for donations to a couple of very fine organizations that do either medical or legal work for the gay, lesbian, and trans communities.

One comment. The writer talks about using Nebido which is not used (currently) in the US. There are lots of people in places that do prescribe this posting some horror stories about how badly it works. I have no first hand knowledge of this (of course) but I think I'll stick to my weekly DepoTest shots for now.

Anyway, many many good points in the article. Someone has the guts to spell out how long Depo T shots really ARE good for. ie when the effect goes back to baseline and what a real typical weekly dose ought to be. Hopefully more doctors who treat F2M and Hypogonadal men will get some of this basic information.
