Is it totally outrageous to take 50 mg Androcur post-castration? Or could there be some benefits to this, especially if one is wanting to feminize?

What would be the point? There are no estrogenic properties that I am aware of to Androcur. It blocks androgen production in the testes.

Oh, I did not mean that the androcur would have any estrogenic properties, as the estrogen would take care of that. I am talking about taking androcur post-castration to ensure that any male secondary features do not show up in any form.
Isn't it true that some women with a hypersensitivity to androgens are prescribed androcur? If this is true, then it is not totally true that androcur only

blocks androgen production in the testes.
It must also have androgen suppression in another form, or else women would not be taking it?

Natal women have some testosterone just as men have a limited amount of estrogen. We both need it (but in the proper mix) to feel right.
Men without Estrogen often become Anorgasmic (Can't climax) and women without testosterone loose sex drive.
Both can become "depressed" so find out what your labs are and shoot for a true female mix now that you've completed GRS.

Actually, I found from personal experience and from Hypogonadism2 group on Yahoo, the with Estrogen gets too low (I'm on Arimidex to control it) you can't get an erection, let alone climax.
Otherwise I agree 100% with your Assessment.

Castrated males still have some testosterone produced by the adrenal glands. They will not have 0.0 of testosterone but something more like <30. The literature for Siterone- a generic Androcur- mentions a low dose for castrated males with prostate cancer to keep their testosterone level as low as possible.

Women with unwanted high levels of T often take Diane35 which has (2) mg of androcur per tablet. That's 2mg vs. the 50mg per tab of siterone/androcur/Cyproterone acetate. It sounds like a big waste of money to take the 50mg if you are castrated and an unnecessary burden on the liver.
If you are on an estrogen regimen, it should be more than adequate to quell any emergence of secondary male characteristics after castration. With all the hormones, you may want to talk to your doctor about a daily low dose aspirin.
*NOTE* Anyone who is self medicating and thinking about or taking a daily low dose aspirin should NOT suddenly discontinue use as it will drastically increase your chances of unwanted blood clots which could lead to a pulmonary embolism (blood clot to the lungs, sudden death) or a stroke (blood clot to the brain which can be worse than death). Everyone here should be aware of the symptoms of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) as well as the symptoms of stroke and embolism, especially if you smoke or are in poor physical shape.

Hi Batman. I spoke to my Doctor about using Arimidex and was told that its not oked for use by men / long term use. We brought the same question to a couple of Urologists who said the same thing.

Hey Mr T
My Endocrinologist brought it up and prescribed it. I hadn't asked about it yet at the time. This was a few months after starting Testosterone injections for Low T. My E2 went from 25 (normal) to 58. With the Arimidex it is upper teens to low 20's. It's hard to figure out the exact dosing, but I usually take 1/4 pill 2x a week. On the Hypogonadism2 group a lot of men use it. Some at a higher dose than I take.
I use Boniva for bones too, but its not approved for men at least not yet.

I get the 50 mg tablets at a low cost, so that is not of concern to me. How dangerous to the liver do you really think it is for a castrated male to take 50 mg for the rest of his life?
