Bizzare castration side effect...insight?

I has surgical castration (bi-lateral orchetomy) last tuesday. Since the surgery (only a week and a day now) I have become like a sex addict. What's going on here? The third day after the surgery I was despirate to cum and so I did even while feeling intense pain and discomfort for my actions and being doped on percocet. The surgery was supposed to take away my sex drive from what I heard and before the surgery I already had none as I was on chem castration for like 6 or 7 years. Why is this happening? I'm loosing sleep, missing work, being generally irresponsible all to get off 5 or 6 times a day and right after I do I feel the need to do it again right away. Is there some pressure there that will go away. I'm on NO hormones right now and before I was on massive doses of T-blockers and estrogen. Is this my how people feel naturally? Its awful. I suddenly have no focus or concentration except for sex.
Any insight? Will this go away soon?

I'll take a guess here...if you were on all the anti-meds until the actual castration..its possible that your adrenal glands are now producing more testosterone and the initial increase is having its effect on your libido. I'm not an expert, but that would be my guess. Over time, I'd think it would settle down as well...
Good Luck

Having been surgically castrated myself, somehow I'm doubting this story to be true. Even if I had been a sex crazed maniac before, I was in enough pain and discomfort after to not want to jerk off even once a day, let alone five or six times.
If I were the rest of you, I wouldn't feed this troll.

Your doctor may have hit you up with a little testosterone just to be impish. It will go away.

I have heard of this happening to others also. It is not common but it is assuredly not unheard of even in those who have not been using anti-testosterone meds. I am not sure of the cause but it will settle down after a while. --FLO--

I would guess that it is more mind over matter. The brain is controlling your feelings, drives and actions. Post castration many report all kind of reactions that are just not possible. Some instant impotent. Others have instant loss of all sex drive in just days after castration. For some reason your mind is causing these effects. It will go away is short order if you are like most. Waiting for many years for castration then having it done can be a great reward to ones person. Thus cause reactions. People seem to forget that the mind is the most powerful organ in the body. It controls how we feel and react to things around us. Your brain may just be in an mental overload for a short while it accepts the castration as finial happening.
Just relax, and things should calm down as the days pass. You just need time to adjust to the new physical body change. Castration is far more then just the surgical removal of the testicles. The mental aspects are very large.

The feeling is like that feeling of pressure somewhere internal right before you ejaculate (pre-castration). It feels like something is pressing upon some internal spot that's making me feel like this.
I thought perhaps it might be the result of some swelling as I'm still swollen in some areas, causing this pressure feeling. It is very strange and unexpected and I really do hope it goes away soon although as some of you know I didn't at all want the total loss of sex drive.
Then I start to think maybe it is my brain. I was SO SO worried about losing my sex drive over this operation that I had to test the waters right after to make sure I could still do stuff. You have to understand that I have a girlfriend and always liked having sex. I fought with myself and my doctors for two years before I decided I didn't have much of a choice but to get it done.
I really don't appreciate being called a troll. I came here to figure out what was going to happen as the doctor told me very little about side effects, almost none that I've seen on this site. I did not go to a cutter or anything like that but was referred to a urology surgical group that mostly deals with prostate cancer and a surgeon there did the op for me but only after a psych eval and taking with my long-time endocrinologist and my primary doc who are managing my hormones.
And as far as the pain I haven't felt that much other than soreness because I've been popping Percocet 4x a day + 1mg Ativan every 6 hrs for the last week. You don't have much pain at all on those things at all except when they wear off. ( I've never been one to refuse drugs).

Hi,
I would expect that things would go down to a much more normal level as time goes on. Since you were so worried about losing your sex-drive completely, this may be your mind still being worried about this and overcompensating because of the fear of it disappearing.
As for as being called a troll, I think that you might have read that wrong. The way that I read from Losethem's post was that he was referring to the exteme need for sex. He wasn't calling you a troll. He was joking not to "feed the troll" as in feed the sex-drive by jerking off so much. He was personifying the sex-drive and jokingly calling it a troll. I don't believe that he was trying to call you a troll or insult you. It can be difficult when reading a post on the internet for one can't see facial expressions or tone of voice.
Anyway, hopefully things will get down to a more comfortable level in the near future. When is your post-operative check up with your surgeon? This would be a good thing to bring up to him when you saw him. Keep us updated on how things go. Congrats on taking this step. I know it was a big one and took a lot of courage.

You asked if this was how a guy's sex drive feels like. Yeah, at least for some of us. Feeling compelled to masturbate 10 times a day, staying up all night watching porn, not being able to concentrate at work because you're just fantasizing about sticking your dick in something.
Anyway, I would guess that your current situation is a combination of the withdrawal from the meds plus the physical sensations of swolleness due to the operation.
It would be unusual, but not impossible, to continue to be very horny after physical castration.
Keep in mind that even women can be sex addicts. Adrenal glands can produce sufficient testosterone, coupled with certain mind-set, to keep the desire up.
I'm a little confused about your reasons and expectations for being castrated. It sounds like you didn't want to be castrated, but you were being chemically castrated, but then you were still worried about retaining sex drive? Were you a sex addict before that needed castration to function? Or was this cancer related?

I'm not sure but your hormone "mix" will be quite different and like a light bulb thats about to burn out may burn brightly before it goes dark.
If your goal is to continue with transition the "mix" for a healthy female with a female type sex drive is just a large amount of estrogen with a small amount of testosterone. Natal men are just switched around. Lots of Testosterone and a little bit of Estrogen. Men need that small amount of Estrogen for mental sharpness and to be capable of reaching orgasm. Just as women need a little Testosterone to have a sex drive and so on.
Some M2F TS people have balanced a nice mix and are just as "horny" as the average women. Talk to your girlfriend a bit about her sexual needs / drive and I think you might be surprised how often she is interested in sex. Its "different" because women don't have erections and they are much less likely to be upfront with their needs in that area. It doesn't mean they don't have them.
A lot about sex is what we think about it. All this surgical work and hormone changes etc have put the sexual part of your life on the front burner so your probably just getting some of this "on the brain" The loss of sex drive from castration is a tad subtle for most of us. Getting on the right balance of hormones will make you feel more normal and health and is (I think) an important part of transition.
Good luck!
