Cooking with balls: the world's first testicle cookbook
Have you tried tackling testicles?
Everyone's very excited about a new e-cookbook launched today (
http://beta.yudu.com/library/item_detai ... e-Cookbook), by online publishers YUDU. It's been compiled by a Serbian fellow called Ljubomir Erovic who has apparently been a testicular cook for some 20 years.

I've never eaten a set of bullocks, but I would imagine after a heafty workout it would be a great source of nutrition.

I don't want testicles with good taste. I want testicles that taste good!

Everyone's very excited about a new e-cookbook launched today, by online publishers YUDU. It's been compiled by a Serbian fellow called Ljubomir Erovic who has apparently been a testicular cook for some 20 years.
"The tastiest testicles in my opinion probably come from bulls, stallions or ostriches, although other people have their own favourites," says Mr Erovic. He also uses those from pigs and turkeys in his cooking and points out that "all testicles can be eaten - except human, of course". Glad to hear it Ljubomir.
Testicles are rich in testosterone (no kidding!) and are believed by many to have powerful aphrodisiac qualities.

Erovic reckons "the best for aphrodisiac properties are sheep and stallion testicles". So there you go.
While the ingredient is fairly challenging, most of the dishes in the book are less adventurous, from testicle pizza, goulash, battered testicles to barbecued testicles and giblets. To be fair though, it doesn't hurt to keep it simple, and there are a couple of more demanding recipes in there, for instance, calf testicles in wine (white or red but not sweet) and testicles with bourguignon sauce.
As for preparation, the recipe for omelette with calf testicles starts, "Remove fine veins from the testicles and put them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes". Presumably, this refers to the testicles, not the veins, but in such untested waters you can never be sure - however there are videos guides for the nervous. The book says testicles should be soaked in water before cooking, to soften them up, and cooks are advised that they will need a "very sharp knife" to tackle them with, so I'm thinking they're perhaps a little tough. Has anyone tried them?

And about this time each year there is the testicle festival in South Dakota I think. Where you can sample all of these fixed just the way you like them.

The way I like them? How about somewhere else but where I am?

I would try them.

Gosh, I live in Louisiana! I won't complete the line.

I have eaten fried sheep testicles while I was on vacation in Greece. To me, they tasted sort of plain, not much taste there, and NO, they did NOT "taste like chicken." The tastes that were there were mostly the salt, garlic, olive oil, the spices, not much other taste to them, no "oyster" taste that other people talk of.
It is not that I am saying that they are a good or bad cooking ingredient, I just want to say that there is not any powerful or pungent taste or smell. In some recipies that is desirable.

Hey you guys with the exception of DeaconBlues,Blaise, and Chilliwilli you sound like a bunch of pansy.

I have had Rocky mountain oysters when I was in Colorado for convenion( model trains). The hotel had them as an appetizer. They tasted like veal

I really like them. I was enjoying them so much I had trouble eating at the banquet. That was back when I could really eat.

You like them, you eat them I dont care, just dont expect me to follow. I have no problem with people eating what they like. I do have a problem with people telling me what I "ought" to eat.
I have never eaten testicles and never knowingly will. I dont care how much people tell me they taste great. They could taste llike my favourite food but they would still be animal bollocks and I just dont fancy them. Each to their own.
