elastrator question

Hi, I love ballbusting and think I'm ready to try an elastrator. I've read most of the posts about elastrators here and am trying to be as knowledgable and safe as possible, but was wondering what a really "safe" amount of time to have it on would be without any long term damage whatsoever. Would 10 minutes be appropriate?
Thanks!

Most likely no permanent damage will be done in ten minutes however be aware that it can still cause problems.

Any time you stop the flow of blood you do run the risk of forming a blood clot. Banding does compress blood vessels and one may not open up once the band is removed. It may open later and releasing a clot.
Yes there are thousands of guys banding all the time with no bad results. They may keep bands on for extended lengths of time. Far longer then what a reasonable person would or should do. Then again they do find the limit the hard way when a major problem develops.
So just be aware of this can be a risky play.

Using an elastrator produces a result very similar to testicular torsion - the blood suply to the testicles is shut off. According to the information that I have found on the treatment of testicular torsion, after 4-hours there is a very high risk of permanent damage (20% or more). After 12-hours the damage is usually permanent (80% or more chance) and surgical removal of the testicle is the only option. Most doctor agree that after 24-hours the chance goes to 100%.
Now, is the damage cumulative? I think that would depend on the duration and frequency. 10-minutes, per week? Not a problem, I would guess. 2-hours, every day? Probably lots of damage.
I could never get past 45-minutes due to the pain. And I only tried it twice.
Using a flat-faced clamping device on my cords for 1-minute resulted in irreversable permanent damage, but this was not an elastrator but a tool similar to a Burdizzo. The little green rubber bands of an elastrator cannot produce enough force to crush the vessels permanently closed. However, a long clamping time will cause a blood clot that could permenently reduce blood flow.
Be careful.

My use of elastrator was 30 min 3 to 5 times a week. I finaly clamped them and I am very happy with them gone but that's me not everybody can or is willing to go all the way.
