Disappearing Avatar

I was just wondering...I uploaded an avatar, it went through its process, showed up, and then disappeared.

Am I doing something wrong? I thought originally that the image may to be graphic, but I see others as graphic.

The image is of me, not someone else (actually 2 images of me merged.)

I am not sure if it is supposed to be pre-approved, or where it went.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I delete avatars that are offensive or pornographic - essentially my own judgment.

While I don't care to see graphic stuff, if it is relevant to our topic I will usually allow. If it appeals to a "prurient" interest - if it is just for the purpose of sexual thrill - I delete. My judgment, that is where yours fell. Generally I do not notify - time is precious, and when I "patrol" avatars on occasion or spot one by chance, I just act.

Keep in mind, many folks here will open the EA at the office, or their kids or others have access to their computers. Often people look at browsing histories. You want some of those kinds of pictures opening in odd locations? Keep in mind - this site is not so much into kink - there are those here for fantasy, no doubt - but about a serious topic. I take it that way.

That's why everyone who accesses this sight should have a user name and a password to log in.

By doing a search on the internet you can find many links to the site's bulletins and blogs. And when you click on those links you are taken directly to the linked page. You never see the main opening screen that contains the notices of what the site is about, or the warnings about age or if the material is not legal in your location.

The site is too open to under age viewers. Granted, under age viewers who are that curious will make up a fake identity and lie about their age just to get a user name and password so that they can log in.

but at least under age viewers won't accidentally enter the site and see material that is inappropriate for young viewers.

If everyone had to login to view the site, how would EA add new members? I visited the site several time before deciding to become a member. Please, let's not lock things down so tight that new people and ideas can not access the site.

I did notice that my avatar disappeared mysteriously too. Also some other avatars I got used to disappeared. Looks like there has been some cleansing campaign on avatars.

It is what I noticed. I am not questioning if Red Nun has right to do it or not :)

I agree that in my avatar there was some erotic tension, but there was nothing pornographic. It was a work of famous artist - Jan Saudek.

http://www.saudek.com/en/jan/fotografie ... &l=0&f=338

About him:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Saudek

When I replaced a picture of myself with this Saudek's picture. I felt that his picture will reflect my state of mind better. There is so much hidden and untold in this picture. Restricted. Hold back. At the point where everything start.

At the same time I felt that some people might get agitated on that pic. Probably they did.

Perhaps we should restrict access to EA much better so that people who might get agitated can not see that material?

A quote from Benjamin Franklin came into my mind:

"If we restrict liberty to attain security we will lose them both."

Please, don't kill me for that. These are just my thoughts

E.

E.I like Saudek's work. I remember years ago when I first saw it I don't think that any of my avatars were offensive, I am just slow with learning how to work computer stuff.

It wont be the pictures that shock, but the content of the archive! 😄
