Sock puppets?

Just wondering for a few weeks now, and can't find the answer in the FAQ. Does the board frown on having multiple accounts/identities here? I've never seen it mentioned, but I've never seen it NOT mentioned on any other board I've frequented. Has it just never come up?

You only get one Board ID, yes.
It's a trick to catch, but if you do get caught, then the "both" of you get tossed.

Ummm, at the risk of sounding stupid here, is there any GOOD reason why anyone would need more than one?
I am not attepmting to sound in anyway rude, but why?
It is an intersting place to read stories, chat, post in a forum...but what would be the advantage of having multiple identities?
Unless, of course, one has multiple personalties, then I guess it would make sense

Not much, for those, who obey local laws (forum rules).
Most such uses are bad, like trolling and avoiding account bans :-\
Maybe someone will suggest other uses, but that's the ones I have seen practically.

And having conversations/agreeing with oneself (or weirdly, disagreeing). Or just attention-whoring.
