How prone are you to infection to begin with?
As with any wound, there's always the risk.
Me, I almost lost a finger once due to infection from a small nick while doing dishes. Then again, when I slashed my leg open about 4 years ago, it never got infected.

I think a doctors success rate for castration should be 100%. Castration is very easy to tell the results right away on the operating table. If no balls in the sack where balls were a short time before. Then castration was 100% success.
I think you were asking on what the rate of post operation problems a doctor may have. That would be vary hard to find out. I minor infection would be treated and no record would be posted to a public file. Unless the doctor is reported to some medical board I do not think there is any way to tell how many "No Problem" castration's the doctor has preformed. You can check on the state medical board if there has been any reports on the doctor.
Maybe if a doctor has a very big back log of openings for appointment's may mean that he has a good reputation.

Normally with a goos sterile enviroment as well as a good Physician you should not have worried.
A Physician may put you on cipro or something similar in the event it looks like you are going to develop an infection or have one, however as long as everything is sterile and done in a positive enviroment you should not obtain an infection, however it could be a possibility. Normally you should not have to worry about bladder or kidneys, but the decision that you are making and know that you will want to keep up your health bones joint, as well as possibley using a small dose of TRT or an HRT to keep things up and running.
Good luck on a wise decision and I wish you the best...

follow post op procedures your surgeon gives you to the letter and your risk of infection will be greatly reduced. If your general health is good that will go a long way toward preventing infection.

I would think that as long as its done by a doctor and the doctors instructions are followed, the risk of infection would be rather small.
