Loss of testosterone..........

For those who have been castrated for any reason............
has anyone done what I will call a slow loss of testosterone following castration?.
By this I mean, on the day of the castration you start TRT, testosterone replacement therapy to make up for the loss of natural testicle testosterone.
Then, over a period of months, you slowly decreased the TRT until you are taking no more TRT at all.
Clearly the loss of testicles, and loss of testosterone, suddenly, would have a significant impact on the body, almost of shock value.
By starting TRT on the day of castration, and slowly decreasing the TRT, one could "ease into" a new physical state, rather than be thrust into it.
I ask this because I went from a T level of 450 (at age 60) to a T level of 170 in 4 months. Even that caused me some mental and emotional ups and downs. The physical was beyond denial; no libido or all that goes with it. This was not from castration but due to intentional self-induced hypogonadism. I thought, hoped, I might achieve a lower testosterone level than 170, but even at 170 I felt like a virtual eunuch.
From my personal experience I would imagine that the mental and physical impact of castration, and an sudden loss of testosterone to levels way below 170, would be a significant shock to the mind and body, even though you wanted it.
My latest blood test reveals that with a prescription TRT I am maintaining a T level of 250. That puts me just above the minimal of 220 (according to my Dr.). I am certainly not a raging stud, thankfully. I have slight sexual tension, but not what I felt when I was at 450.
I can only imagine what my T level was when I was in my 20's. It must have been pushing 800 as I was constantly thinking of and engaged in sexual activity of some kind, several times a day.
In any event I have reduced my TRT to half of what I should be taking. That should put my T level around 200, slightly below "low normal". Then after castration I would increase the TRT to a double dose to make up for the loss of my testicles and then slowly reduce the TRT one week at a time for several months.
At least, that's my theory. "Ease" into being castrated instead of going at it "cold turkey". I see no medical studies, or E-archive discussion on this.
It's a one time opportunity / approach.
Am I off the beam, or is it something worth doing?
In any event, I look forward to being neutered, and in hearing your input.
