None. Both my Urologist and Orthopaedist said that for men over 50 it was contra-indicated. And, frankly, after I discontinued it along with the accompanying vitamin D I felt significantly better. However, this should probably be discussed with one's own physician before stopping or starting a programme that includes these.

Mine suggested that after my Orchi (Even tho I'm on HRT) that two tabs daily is indicated. She also had me do a Bone scan test shortly after the snip to get a baseline.

I've been told from multiple sources that calcium citrate is better absorbed than carbonate.
I'd much rather take the carbonate though. calcium citrate pills are horse pills compared to carbonate.

why don't you all take magnesium as well?
only taking calcium may set you up for shortage of magnesium in your body.
it is better to take natural sources of calcium than in those pills anyway.
calcium pills are not so good for the prostate(more chance of prostatecancer).
