Big Brother is Listening

Greetings my brethren,
I am pleased to report that Operation Saladin will be implemented in 14 days and our enemies across the water will suffer such a blow that what they call 9/11 will seem to them like a ride on a camel in comparison.
Yusuf and his team in Seattle are ready and could implement their part of Saladin now if called upon.
Ali has reported some difficulty in getting the sherbet in position at the oil refineries but he has recently found security guards who will turn a blind eye in return for baksheesh. Not that they will live to enjoy it.
Iqbal has completed his installation at ten major power stations and has another three to go. He is on schedule.
May Allah shower his blessings upon these brave men. The infidels will be so smitten that they will be unable to recover.
Mohamet
All the above is a complete piece of fiction. My point is that the FISA amendment is now law. Okay, I know it is for foreign surveillance but once you have access to the exchanges and servers you have access to everything. The security services are able to monitor and intercept all and any email, sms and telephone conversation that they wish.
Presumably nonsense like that above is the kind of thing they are looking for. But now there is nothing to prevent them from getting inside information on the stock market, knowing what horse will be trying in what race and they will know that your sweet wife is screwing some guy down the street long before you find out.
It isnt only America. Most of Western Europe has similar legislation. Eastern Europe long ago perfected the noble art of surveillance, or spying upon its own people.
All harmless enough and for our own good you may think, but even that fine upstanding drag queen, J. Edgar wasnt above a spot of discreet blackmail from time to time. And he had the dirt on everyone who mattered. Now the security forces have it even on those of us who dont matter. Heck! They could know if you jacked off in the shower this morning.
The question is: do they really need to know that? And how long before the abuse starts? My guess is that it has started already.
