New book on the Hijra (in French)

Marie Genoud’s 2006 thesis at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Toulouse, titled Viparita: La communauté hijra en Inde (Viparita: The hijra community in India) is now available in PDF format at:

The thesis is 160 pages long and in French, of course. It would be greatly appreciated if one of the native French speakers on the Archive would post a review for the rest of us to read. My French is far too rusty to manage the task.
