Poll: Most Americans Would Support Gay Presidential Candidate
Following an Advocate article pondering the electability of an openly gay candidate for president, a new nationwide poll from Zogby International found that 65% of likely voters would support an openly gay person to serve as president of the United States if they believed he or she was the most qualified person for the post.
While this is fantastic news, it brings to mind the obvious question about how to address the gay President's spouse or significant other.
Wouldn't it be simply AWESOME to go down in history as the nation's first "First Bottom?"

I think it would be awesome to go down in the Oval Office. Oh wait has that been done before?
I think it is great that 65% of the population would support a gay president. I do wonder what share of the 35% that would not support a gay president would be cause for concern.

Ah - you are indeed right. I'd forgotten that "go down IN history" isn't that different from "go down ON history."
That brings other related terms into focus as well.
Not just "Oval Office," but also "Executive Branch."
And it's no accident that both are currently represented by a Dick and a Bush.
