I just started on 100 mg of Androcur and 20 mg of Tomoxifen per day divided in two separate doses. I'm going to post every few days and update my progress. I don't know if this is the right thing for me which is why I'm trying the chemical route first. I'm wondering if the Tomoxifen will make my sex drive decline any faster because I'm taking it from the beginning?

I'm also wondering if there is anyone here who is currently taking 10 mg of Tomoxifen per day and having success? I would like to eventually drop my dosage down to 50 mg of Androcur and 10 mg of Tomoxifen per day if everything goes well with my treatment.

Why the tamoxifen? Is that an attempt to prevent any feminization or does it serve another purpose in the chemical castration?

Tamoxifen is anti-estrogenic. Helps prevent feminization. Some folks doing HRT (T) also use Tamox to increase the effectiveness of T.

The reason for adding the Tomoxifen is to enhance the effect of the Androcur both in the short term as well as the overall effect. I've read various posts claiming that when the two drugs are taken together that sexual function and drive drop faster and to a lower base level. My other option was to take a higher starting dose of androcur such 150-200 mg per day for a short time but the results I read about were sort of a mixed bag. Plus the risks increase as well as the unwanted side effects from the drug itself. Adding the Tomoxifen seems like a safer and perhaps more effective option.

I have been taking 150mg of androcur and 10mg of tomoxifen now for about 4 weeks. Before just taking 150mg of androcur my sex drive was still there. Since adding tomoxifen my sex drive is gone. In the past I also had some problems with Gynecomastia so this is also something I hope will help to keep that from being a issue again.

At this poing after 6 months of chemical castration I still am very positive about the experience and hope one day to be surgically castrated.

I wanted to mention a few things. My short term goal over the next 4 weeks is to lower my sex drive and my ability to achieve and erection as much as possible and determine where I want to go with it. My only regret at this is point is that I took a saliva test for T last year and I no longer have the results. I do remember that my T level was at the top for my age group which gives me a not so exact idea of what it was. It's too late to bother with doing it again since I've already started the medication so I'll see how things go and take another one at a later date if I feel like I need to.

So far it's day two and there are no changes to mention.

Thank you, hopefully all goes well with the medication. How long were you taking androcur and what did you experience?

I indeed had two test periods with androcur. The first one I had at the end of 2006. You can find some posts of this experience on the forum. It was a very positive experience. 2x50 mg did more than enough. No more sex thoughts and a completely free feeling of mind.

Now recently I had a second test run. Although the first experience was very positive, I could only take the drug for two weeks on the second trial. After a few days I had no energy left, felt really empty and was lingering to depression. I quit the medication and fortunately I recovered.

I still don't know what happened exactly but androcur gave me then a very bad feeling. It's only now, more than two months later I'm more or less like before.

Nevertheless I do not masturbate that much any more and I do not like any more my electromasturbation activities.

It is very, very strange what a change of hormones can do to a otherwise perfect normal, educated man of 34 years old, 75 kg.

I still have half a bottle on the shelf. I will see later whether I will give it a thirth try.

You see: it is very powerful. Be careful for what you are wishing for.

I really hope you can achieve you're goals.

Good for you Terry! It has only been 3 days for me and of course there's really nothing to report. I took a small dose on Friday and I then decided on Saturday to increase my dosage to 150 mg of Androcur and 20 mg of Tamoxifen per day. I hope that my body responds well to it and that I can decrease that dose over time to reduce the risks involved as well as the costs. When it comes to tamoxifen according to what I've read so far 20 mg is as much as I'll ever need. The side effects are also pretty low which makes it even more appealing. Good luck.
