Testicle numbing question/answer.

I didn't know why my balls lost sensitivity and became numb. I finally found something on the internet that explains the process. The article has to do with men who take high doses of steroids to build muscle mass:

".......... testes desensitize when not presented with a sufficient LH signal. In men with normal LH levels and testicular sensitivity, the maximum increase of testosterone is seen from a dose of only ~250iu, with minimal increases obtained from 500iu or even 5000iu.2,11 (It appears the testes maximum secretion of testosterone is about 140% above base line.12-18) So, if you have allowed your testes to desensitize over the length of a typical steroid cycle, (8-16 weeks) then you would require a higher dose to elicit a response in an attempt to restore normal testicular size and function – but there is cost to this, and a high probability that you won’t regain full testicular function.

To get an idea of how quickly testicular degeneration occurs from your average multi-AAS cycle, consider this: LH levels are rapidly decreased by the 2nd day of steroid administration. By shutting down the LH signal and allowing the testis to be non-functional over a 12-16 week period, leydig cell volume decreases 90%, ITT decreases 94%, INSL3 decreases 95%, while the capacity to secrete testosterone decreases as much as 98%. It should be mentioned that visually analyzing testes size is a poor method of judging your actual testicular function, since testicular size is not directly related to the ability to secrete testosterone. This is because the leydig cells, which are the primary sites of testosterone secretion, only make up about 10% of the total testicular volume. Therefore, testicular size may appear normal on a cycle, but the testes ability to secrete testosterone upon LH or hCG stimulation can actually be significantly diminished.

==================

Guys that pump themselves up on steroids in early life may wind up virtual castrates when they get older. Some would call that the best of both worlds.

Thus, in my case, because of the physical damage that occured to the inner contents of my testicles this caused LH level to drop resulting in hard, small, sterile, numb, testes that produce no testosterone. I guess. All without chemicals or surgery. Not without risk, but I dodged that bullet and got the end results that I desired. 🙏

How long did you take steriods and when did you stop. This is a cautionary tale for the majority of men who DO NOT want to become eunuchs

This one drug that the FDA has not allowed to be used in the states. Looks like it's use is only in Europe. Injection drugs are looked down upon.

It may cross into some areas that may be an issue. The final note on the info page also draws some questions about the drug.

PLEASE NOTE: Product is legally sold for non-human experimental purposes only. Buyer warrants that the product will not be used in any other manner and assumes any and all responsibility for misuse. Buyer further warrants that they are of legal age and that the purchase of this item is legal where this is being shipped to or used and assumes responsibilities for any legal infractions.

I sort of question this type of so called drug as being a good thing to take. This drug is meant to be use for body builders to gain muscle mass.

I did not take chemicals to affect hormones. For physical reasons my testicles stopped producing testosterone. This was something I desired, sought, and achieved.

Once the lab test confirmed the loss of testosterone I wondered why my balls got hard and lost sensitivity. It was the above web site that provided some possible information as to why that might have happened. I am to see the Dr. in 2 weeks so perhaps I can obtain further input on this.

Being on Testim has caused my balls to shrink in size. I was not aware this would happen (until after the fact) Hard to estimate how much they have shrunk but they are approaching a 50% reduction. Being hard and numb it is like having prosthetic testicles. This I know from personal experience.

Latest Lab test results indicate I have a T level of 170.

According to my Dr. anything under 220 makes you "testosterone deficient" and frequently unable to feel or function as a male, plus there are side effects such as osteporosis that can develop from such a deficiency.

By using one application of Testim per day my T level went up to 250.

But even at 250 I regained interest in sex and can again perform sexually.

Prior to dropping to 170 my T level was 440. (800 would be an average high level, with 440 being about middle range).

By increasing or decreasing my use of Testim I suppose I could cycle from being able to perform sexually, or being completely flacid and uninterested in sex. I recall seeing a post from someone else who was seeking this type of flexibility.

Overuse of Testim and/or high testosterone levels can increase the risk of prostate cancer. Having a borderline low T level can help minimize prostate cancer risk (though there are no absolutes on this one way or the other, just statisticts).

Now that my balls are hard, small, and numb (a result of using the Testim) , at the moment there is no immediate urgency to pursue physical castration, though this has been, and still is, a life long desire.

I am fortunate to have insurance as the Testim costs over $250 a month (more than I usually spend on food). Prescribed dose is one per day. Now I take 1 dose every 2 days. This dose may still too high as I am not free of my libido, but I will give my body 4 weeks to see if there is a delayed reaction. If not, then I will go to one half a dose every other day and keep decreasing the dose, one month at a time, until I finally am libido-free. That should put me at about between 200 and 220, free of my sexual urges or ability to perform, but still with some T in my system to ward off complications of having no T. Or so I hope.
