• would you seek castration if it were covered?

I wonder how many men would get castrated if it were a free service or covered by medi-cal or medicaid. I guess that covering the procedure is indirectly condoning and accepting the eunuch lifestyle. Maybe acceptance would be the emptitous many men would need more than not paying the two or three grand.

I guess I'm not really that hung up on it anymore...but I'd probably do it if it were covered by insurance. Kinda like a body image, sexual identity thing.

Because of mine being a "health" issue (chronic pain that could not be corrected, my castration was covered. My HRT is also covered by insurance. Next month, on the 15th, i will have my scrotum removed. I have been told it will be covered also.

If it were REASONBLY priced, yes I would do it. I still just cannot believe the costs associated with castration, it is only minor surgery and can be done with local anesthetic.

Right now, there are one or two things holding me back from just doing it. First, I dread the probability of osteoperosis, if that were not a probability, I would probably have already been castrated. Second, the PRICE, oh my GOD! THE PRICE! WHY SO DAMN EXPENSIVE FOR THIS MINOR PROCEDURE?! Finally, there are the other common reasons, to me those other reasons are not really that big of a deal, but still, they are there. The stigma that some people have about being a eunuch, the loss of strength and energy, the sometimes reported loss of mental abilities, but like I say, that is not the big deal with me.

Mine was covered because I wanted it and my Doctor seen my need.

No! I undertand why one might want to be a eunuch but I love being aroused. I miss it. I love being sexual. However, I think that many situations might require castration and I suspect that our insurance plans would often cover the operation.

So you feel that a lack of testosterone would cause you to lose your sexual arousal. What do you feel when you are aroused? Do you feel anxious, overwhelmingly nervous? I guess what I'm asking is what does "being sexual" mean to you? And if losing your ability to have an erection would decrease that ability, why are you interested in the subject/fantasy? If you don't mind I'm a really curious person.

One of the requirements put on me by my urologist was to go on HRT to prevent osteoporosis from developing. I have had no development of it since my castration 3 years ago. Of course, if your insurance does not cover hrt, then it would be expensive. I checked and found my insurance covered it. That was a decising factor in him doing the operation. Yes, it is expensive. The dr. was the cheapest part.It was the outpatient surgery center that jacked the price up. Doc was less than $500.00 but the surgery center was $2900.00. But I am happy with the results.

and of course, insurance covered the operation....medicare did and will be covering the removal of my scrotum.

I know once your put under a general anesthetic your going to have a anesthesia bill. Folks that just go with a doc that will do a scrotal excision and removal avoid the entire surgical center and cost. It is still really surprising how much it costs regardless.
