i recently saw the trailer for the "american eunuchs" film , then i searched the threads and found that everyone was highly offended by it and basically the group attitude toward it is: burn it
has anyone ever thought of making a video documentary of people from the archive as sort of a rebuttal? we have some of the most interesting people, also some of the most beautiful people(me
) that i have ever met. i dont have any experience with film or editing i bet someone on this archive does.

Re: american eunuchs deux
LET'S MAKE OUR OWN MOVIE!
Seriously, a while back, like more than twenty years I think, some COLLEGE STUDENTS from the University of Mexico City got together a few movie cameras, and FOR ABOUT $7,000 they made a movie. That movie was called "El Mariachi" and it was AWESOME! It inspired two sequels that had big name actors (e.g. Antonio Banderas, Selma Hayek, Cheech Marin) but the sequels clearly lacked some quality that the first "El Mariachi" had.
If a bunch of college students can put out a GREAT movie like El Mariachi, then we CERTAINLY have the talent here to make a good movie. I bet we could make a damn good movie.
How many movies today have been made with a castration theme? NOT MANY, and NONE OF THEM WERE REALLY ANY GOOD. Ever even seen "The Ladies Club" or "Hard Candy" or "Savage Sisters" or any other piece of Hollywood trash? Were ANY OF THEM ANY GOOD? NO! NOTHING Hollywood has put out so far portrays castration with any reality, nothing so far was really very interesting to watch, nothing arousing, nothing REAL about it.
I know we could do a LOT better than "Hard Candy" or any of the others.

Re: american eunuchs deux
There is already one quite good documentary on the voluntary eunuch community. Unfortunately, so far it has only been shown on British television (twice that I know of) and has not yet made the jump across the pond for U.S. or Canadian viewing. In a TV hour, it focuses on four individuals and the reasons for their castration. Included are two of the active members of the Archive, Homptydumpty and Thefraj, both of whom are very well and honestly portrayed. A long thread about the documentary can be found at: Channel 4 Documentary (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=10715).
One result of the documentary was that Thefraj was interviewed by the media in the UK. An extended interview of him, together with a very nice photo, was published on one of the major womens magazines. His then girlfriend read the article and commented to him that he'd have women tracking him down and asking him for a date because of the article. At least one did.
There were newspaper interviews and articles, and a couple of television interviews with Thefraj. There is a thread discussing one of the TV interviews posted at Thefraj on "This Morning" (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=10866).
There is certainly room for more accurate documentary work on the community, and a Canadian TV program is currently in the works. Ill keep you posted as I find out more.
