Sexuality and appetite after orchiectomy with female hormones

Hi All,

I have been taking Estriadol Valerate 8mg for about a year. I tried Cypertone Acetate and due to some side effects had to stop using it.

I will be having a bilateral Orchiectomy with scrotum removal done with Dr Kimmel in the next month or two (depending on how fast I can save the rest of the money I need)

I was wondering if others who have had the procedure done and are on female hormones, find they stil have desire for sex and if any of their preferences or fetishes have changed as a result of the loss of the bulk of testosterone.

Thanks!!

Kayleigh 🆘

I find that when I'm on estrogen I have a higher sex drive. :)

That is what I feel too, but with not having the cyperatone in my system anymore it is hard to judge. I mean I guess having some fears is natural and good. It makes me feel like I am really taking my time to make sure this is truly what I want.

I am very sure but still not 100% calm about it.

Some days I am very calm and resigned adn confident. Other days I am wondering if it will all be as I hope it will be.

:)

Thank you for your reply tanglog 🙏

I know what you mean. :) Sometimes I'm super-confident and others not so much. It is quite annoying.

Kayleigh,

Without testosterone, you will not have any sex drive. Estrogen alone will not give you sexual feelings or satisfaction. To maintain your sexual feelings you will need to add some testosterone. Women who have gone through the change (menopause) do not regain sexual satisfaction with estrogen alone. It has been discovered that they also require testosterone to regain some level of sexual satisfaction. More physicians are prescribing "estratest," which is a combination of estrogen and testosterone. So, estrogen alone will not suffice. Dr. Kimmel will not give you a prescription testosterone, I am not sure about estrogen. Food for thought. Question: Are you a transsexual? If so, getting your scrotum removed is not advised. Scrotal skin is extremely important for SRS surgery.

No testicles != no testosterone. :P

Actually that is not 100% correct. the testicles excrete about 95% of the testosterone in a person's body the other 5% comes from your pituitary gland and your Adrenal glands. Women have testosterone as well and if not woudl not have a sex drive and it is not extreted from ovaries. It is from the aforementioned glands.

I do not have anyplans on full SRS that is the full extent of any surgical alterations I woudl have made to my body.

Some women report having a stronger sex drive after menopause. This might be in part due to the lack of worry about unwanted pregnancy. Sex drive in women is from what I've read different and they have a much different mix of hormones then men. So... A man with 50mg/dl of Testosterone is probably going to have low to no sex drive. But have that amount and a strong dose of estrogen and you have a horny housewife. Its not just as simple (I think) as amount of Testosterone = being sexual.

Its the ratio and what "kind" of sexuality you are after. A female or male sexuality. And I echo the suggestion to not have your scrotum removed. I know of at least one member who is very unhappy with this choice. If your "right" with a female mix of hormones I think its a good idea to not out a hard limit on how far you can take that transition.

And once your testicles are gone there will be shrinkage of the scrotum anyway. *Unless your getting implants.
